Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and supporting software applications for new and existing systems. The position requires the person to:\nDesign, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software programs and applications\nEffectively communicate with business users, team members, and management\nDesign and implement robust, flexible, easily maintainable solutions to problems\nIdentify and present opportunities for process improvement \nThis internship has full-time hours (Monday through Friday) and is in person in Lansing, Michigan. Interns choose their start and end dates. Most join in mid-May and stay until mid-August.\nDesired Skills and Experience\nStudents must be working toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and have at least two years of coursework completed.\nAn understanding of object oriented and/or functional design paradigms and best practices\nHigh aptitude for logical thinking and pattern recognition\nEnthusiasm for learning new technologies and practices to overcome existing challenges\nAbility to adapt to constant change and innovation\nUnderstanding of Web technologies based on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript such as Angular\nKnowledge of Responsive Design (Mobile), Database Design (SQL), ASP.NET, WebAPI, Core MVC, C#, F#, C++, Automated Testing, Software Development Lifecycle, Agile Methodologies, Version Control Practices (git), or AWS or Cloud technologies is a plus\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nAuto-Owners Insurance is an equal opportunity employer.
