This is an exciting opportunity to work on Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and services that directly impact millions of Autodesk product users worldwide.\nIn this role, you will drive technical strategy, influence platform direction, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performing systems that support critical business outcomes.\nYou will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, architects, and Product Management to shape platform capabilities, drive technical excellence, and deliver innovative solutions.\nThis position is based in Pune, India.\nResponsibilities\nLead the architecture, design, and development of platform services using Java, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Redis, and Apache Kafka\nDesign and implement distributed, event-driven microservices architectures with a strong focus on scalability, resilience, latency, and observability\nTake end-to-end ownership of platform capabilities, including architecture, engineering practices, software quality, deployment, operational excellence, and production support\nLead large-scale, complex, and ambiguous technical initiatives from requirements clarification through execution and successful delivery\nDrive technical discussions and alignment across engineering teams, architects, Product Management, and Platform Engineering groups\nServe as a technical leader during production incidents, driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA), issue resolution, and systemic improvements\nMentor engineers and promote engineering excellence through design reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing\nInfluence engineering direction across organizations and enable teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions\nEstablish and promote engineering best practices that improve platform reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency\nCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical decisions with broader product and business objectives\nMinimum Qualifications\n10+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in back-end development and distributed systems\nExtensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Redis, and Docker\nProven experience designing and developing scalable, highly available distributed platforms and microservices\nDemonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams\nStrong technical leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills\nAbility to make sound architectural decisions while balancing scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience designing and operating large-scale, event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or similar messaging technologies\nExperience building and maintaining cloud-native applications and distributed systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS)\nFamiliarity with observability, monitoring, incident management, and production reliability practices\nExperience leading architectural reviews and defining engineering standards across multiple teams\nExperience optimizing distributed systems for performance, scalability, latency, and operational efficiency\nExperience mentoring senior engineers and
