You’ll have plenty of autonomy in the role, taking ownership of your area of expertise and having a genuine influence on the reliability and development of the company’s automation systems within a small, close-knit team.\nControls Systems Engineer\n£45,000 - £55,000 + c5% Bonus + 15% Pension + 33 Days Holidays + Benefits\nGloucestershire\nRef: 25065\nControls Systems Engineer - The Role:\nDesign, program, and commission PLCs & motion systems (Siemens TIA)\nRobot Integration and Programming (ABB)\nDevelop and integrate functional safety systems (light curtains, scanners, safety PLCs)\nDeliver SCADA/HMI solutions with alarms, diagnostics, and data acquisition\nLead automation projects from concept to handover\nTroubleshoot faults, implement upgrades, and support production & maintenance teams\nControls Systems Engineer - The Person:\nProven experience as a Control Systems Engineer or in a similar automation engineering role.\nStrong proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens TIA).\nHands-on experience with industrial automation systems, including SCADA, HMI, and overall control system architecture.\nSolid background in manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments.\nBased at the company’s Gloucestershire manufacturing facility, this is a genuinely site-based engineering role with no requirement for regular travel to customer sites for commissioning.\nYou’ll work from one location, taking ownership of the controls and automation systems on site and working closely with the engineering, maintenance and production teams.
