The team builds the automation, deployment tooling, infrastructure-as-code, and internal services that support AutoRek’s Azure-based SaaS estate.\nThe team is in an exciting transition phase; while what we have built to date has been consumed primarily by our internal Cloud Operations team who service our SaaS customers, we are now deliberately shifting towards a true platform engineering model: reusable services, clearer boundaries, and self-service capabilities that Product Engineering and other teams can consume directly. You will play a hands-on part in that, building and improving platform components within an agreed technical direction and working with colleagues across the business.\nThis is a role for an engineer who wants to deepen their Azure, automation, and infrastructure-as-code expertise in a team where patterns, standards, and review processes are already established, with the support of senior engineers and the scope to take on more over time.\nResponsibilities\n What You'll Be Doing:This is a hands-on technical role, while also building strong working relationships across Product Engineering, Cloud Operations, Security, Compliance, and other internal teams to support business needs and platform objectives.\nPick up scoped pieces of platform work and see them through implementation, testing, documentation, and handover, following the team’s established patterns and standards and flagging where you think there is a better approach.\nDefine and agree acceptance criteria for your scoped changes, including test evidence, rollback steps, and operational handover notes before release.\nBuild and maintain infrastructure-as-code pipelines and automation for our Azure SaaS platforms using Terraform, Terraform Cloud, Azure DevOps (ADO), Ansible, and various scripting languages, helping to remove manual effort and make deployments more consistent and repeatable.\nContribute reusable platform components, such as modules, templates, and runbooks, and prefer standard patterns over one-off implementations.\nContribute your input to designs and take part in code and design reviews alongside senior engineers who set the overall technical direction, sharing what you learn with the rest of the team as you go.\nSurface ambiguity, risks, and dependencies early with practical options and trade-offs. Maintain clear technical artefacts, such as implementation notes, runbook updates, and documentation, where relevant.\n\nRequirements\nWhat We’re Looking For:Hands-on Azure experience in a production environment.\nInfrastructure-as-code experience, particularly Terraform and Terraform Cloud.\nAzure DevOps and Git experience, including YAML pipelines, repositories and pull request workflows.\nScripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI and/or Python.\nWorking knowledge of Azure networking and identity, including VNets, private endpoints, DNS, Entra ID, RBAC and managed identities.\nExperience testing and validating your own changes and working within peer review and change control processes.\nAble to produce release-ready change evidence, including test results, rollback approach and handover documentation.\nAble to offer practical input into technical designs and reviews.\nClear technical documentation, and clear communication of progress, risks, and blockers.\nAble to use approved AI-assisted tooling safely, including validating generated outputs and handling sensitive data appropriately.\nDesirable:\nExperience working with internal developer platforms, golden paths or self-service developer tooling.\nExposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows beyond basic code completion.\nExposure to or familiarity with Ansible or other configuration-as-code tooling.\nSees work through to completion and keeps others informed along the way.\nAsks good questions and seeks clarification early rather than guessing.\nContributes to design discussions, asks constructive questions and is open to feedback.\nThinks in repeatable patterns rather than one-off fixes.\nWorks effectively across team boundaries with Product Engineering, Cloud Operations and other internal teams.\nShares knowledge with colleagues and takes part in reviews.\nAdopts new tooling, including AI, where it demonstrably helps, and is comfortable saying where it does not.\nBalances delivery pace against reliability, security and supportability.\nIntrinsically driven toward self-improvement.\nHappy to be challenged by peers and seniors alike, argue your case on its merits and work with a “best idea wins” mindset\nBenefits\n26-day annual leave package, Flexible bank holidays - plus public holidays and your birthday off\nSalary exchange pension scheme \nThe option to buy extra annual leave days\nCompany Bonus Plan\nEmployee Nominated On-The Spot Bonus Program.
