Coordinate with partners on cabling and hardware installations.\nVirtualisation Platforms: Manage virtualisation platforms, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, capacity management and availability.\nOperational Stability: Monitor system performance and environmental conditions, identify and escalate potential issues, and follow standard operating procedures. Participate in incident, problem, change and lifecycle management, including the on-call rota. Contribute to disaster recovery, resilience and business continuity planning.\nStorage and Backup Management: Support the deployment, configuration and maintenance of storage solutions.\nAutomation and Projects: Drive the implementation of automation and Infrastructure as Code to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Maintain and troubleshoot existing automation processes, and participate in proofs of concept to evaluate and integrate new technologies.\nCollaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with fellow engineers and team members, support other departments, and contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions and knowledge sharing.\nHybrid Cloud Adoption: Support hybrid cloud adoption and integration with existing Data Centre services.\nRequirements\nSkills and Experience\nSubstantial experience in enterprise Data Centre engineering.\nStrong knowledge of compute, storage, virtualisation, operating systems and backup technologies.\nExperience with virtualisation platforms and their associated management ecosystems.\nKnowledge of storage protocols, data protection, replication and high-availability concepts.\nUnderstanding of infrastructure monitoring, capacity management and performance optimisation.\nExperience with scripting, automation and Infrastructure as Code.\nFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid operating models.\nUnderstanding of security baselines, privileged access and infrastructure hardening.\nExperience supporting critical platforms in a structured operational environment.\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.\nTypically, six to ten years of relevant experience, or demonstrable expertise appropriate to the role.\nExperience coordinating the work of others or contributing to technical projects is desirable.\nStrong understanding of platform reliability, security, resilience and operational excellence.\nExperience participating in incident, problem, change and lifecycle management.\nAbility to document technical solutions and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical
