In partnership with engineering, security, and platform teams, you will design scalable, reliable database solutions for healthcare applications serving millions of users. This role is suited to an architect who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to set direction, influence stakeholders, and lead enterprise transformation.\nSponsorship, in any form, is not available for this position.\nLocation: Remote, US\nWhy you want to work on this team:\nYou enjoy solving complex scalability, reliability, and performance challenges across enterprise cloud database platforms.\nYou want to shape the future of healthcare by building the resilient data foundations that power critical industry services.\nYou are passionate about leading database platform architecture that enables engineering teams to deliver business innovation faster and more reliably.\nTo be qualified for this position you:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n10+ years of experience in database engineering, administration, or architecture, including 5+ years designing cloud-native database solutions.\nProven experience designing and implementing mission-critical database platforms for large-scale workloads in public cloud environments.Proficiency with AWS required.\nExperience with additional cloud providers preferred (Azure, GCP)\n\nDeep expertise in at least two enterprise database platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra) including data modeling, performance tuning, and scalable design.\nExtensive experience with AWS database services, including RDS and Aurora, and selecting supporting technologies such as DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Redshift, and DMS.\nExperience architecting highly available database solutions with disaster recovery and multi-region capabilities.\nProven success leading database modernization and cloud migration initiatives at enterprise scale.\nExperience applying Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD practices to database provisioning, configuration, upgrades, schema changes, and deployment.\nStrong understanding of database security, governance, compliance, backup, and recovery strategies.\nAbility to assess existing environments, document technical debt, and develop transition roadmaps to future-state architecture.\nExpertise in query optimization, workload analysis, capacity planning, and cloud database cost optimization.\nExperience defining database observability standards, including metrics, logging, alerting, service-level indicators, and capacity planning.\nDemonstrated success influencing technical direction, leading cross-functional initiatives, and developing database engineering talent.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.\nAWS Certified Solutions Architect -
