We currently serve over 100,000 students and are building the architecture to scale to millions of learners across India and global markets.\n\nThe Role :\n\nWe are looking for an AI Technical Architect who can bridge AI, backend engineering, data architecture, and team leadership. This is not a research role and not a pure engineering management role. You will be responsible for evolving our AI and data infrastructure, scaling our knowledge graph architecture, improving reliability and cloud efficiency, and leading a team of engineers building AI-powered products for students, teachers, and schools.\n\nWhat You Will Own :\n\n- Architecture of AcadAlly's adaptive learning and assessment platform.\n\n- Evolution and scaling of our Knowledge Graph infrastructure.\n\n- Design and deployment of LLM-powered educational experiences.\n\n- AI orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails.\n\n- Engineering standards, code quality, and technical reviews.\n\n- Cloud infrastructure, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.\n\n- Hiring, mentoring, and managing a team of 10 - 15 engineers.\n\n- AI platform roadmap and technical decision-making.\n\nRequired Experience :\n\n1. AI + Backend Engineering :\n\nYou can write production-quality Python django code and have built AI-powered systems beyond prototypes. You have experience with :\n\n- LLM integrations\n\n- Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)\n\n- Prompt orchestration\n\n- Model evaluation\n\n- Guardrails and safety layers\n\n- AI workflow design\n\n2. Cloud Cost Optimization :\n\n- You have materially reduced infrastructure or AI inference costs in a previous organization and can demonstrate measurable impact.\n\n3. Engineering Leadership :\n\n- You have managed or led a team of approximately 8-10 engineers and have experience hiring, mentoring, and driving accountability.\n\n4. Python / Django Expertise :\n\n- You can comfortably operate within an existing Python and Django ecosystem and make architectural decisions without requiring extensive ramp-up time.\n\n5. Knowledge Graphs in Production :\n\n- You have designed, built, or owned a graph database system (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or equivalent) powering a live product. We are specifically looking for someone who understands graph modeling, relationships, traversal strategies, and production-scale graph architectures.\n\n6. LLM Orchestration Frameworks :\n\nYou have practical experience using frameworks such as :\n\n- LangChain\n\n- LangGraph\n\n- CrewAI\n\n- Direct API orchestration approaches\n\n- You should have strong opinions based on production experience, not theoretical familiarity.\n\nPreferred Experience :\n\n1. Cloud & Kubernetes :\n\n- GCP and GKE\n\n- Kubernetes\n\n- Docker\n\n- CI/CD pipelines\n\n- Observability and monitoring systems\n\n2. Distributed Systems :\n\n- Microservices\n\n- Event-driven architectures\n\n- Message queues\n\n- High-volume API systems\n\n3. AI Data Infrastructure :\n\nExperience building :\n\n- Recommendation engines\n\n- Personalization systems\n\n- Learning analytics platforms\n\n- Data pipelines for AI applications\n\n4.
