The Solution Architect will work closely with Regional Delivery Managers, Sales, Proposal Engineers, OEMs, vendors, and internal stakeholders.\nThe role will also provide technical leadership to Proposal Engineers and support workload distribution, mentoring, and development of team capability.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Solution Architecture & Technical Design\nReview customer RFQs, specifications, drawings, BOQs, datasheets, and tender requirements.\nDevelop complete and optimized technical solutions aligned with customer requirements.\nDefine system architecture, control philosophy, communication architecture, redundancy requirements, and third-party interfaces.\nSelect appropriate technologies, hardware, software, and OEM platforms.\nIdentify technical gaps, missing scope, ambiguities, integration risks, and specification conflicts.\nPrepare appropriate technical clarifications, assumptions, deviations, and exclusions.\nEnsure proposed solutions are technically complete, compliant, scalable, maintainable, and commercially viable.\n2. Solution Portfolio\nThe candidate should have broad exposure to industrial automation and system integration solutions, including:\nPLC & RTU Systems\nSCADA & HMI Systems\nDCS/ESD/F&G Systems\nInstrumentation & Control\nIndustrial Cybersecurity\nIndustrial Networking & ICT\nBuilding Management Systems\nPower Management Systems\nLow Current / ELV Systems\nServers, Storage & Virtualization\nIndustrial IoT & Edge Computing\nWater & Wastewater Automation\nTunnel Automation\nIntelligent Transportation Systems\nData Center Monitoring & Controls\nThe candidate is expected to have broad multidisciplinary solution understanding with strong expertise in at least two to three core automation/control domains. Expertise across the entire portfolio is not mandatory.\n3. Proposal Development & Bid Execution\nLead technical proposal development for assigned opportunities.\nDevelop proposal execution plans in coordination with the Bid Manager and Regional Delivery Manager.\nBreak down tender requirements into technical work packages and assign tasks to Proposal Engineers.\nDefine internal proposal milestones and monitor progress against submission deadlines.\nPrepare and/or review technical proposals, compliance statements, system architectures, design philosophies, BOMs / BOQs, scope matrices, interface matrices, technical clarifications, assumptions, deviations, exclusions, and vendor scopes.\nEnsure consistency between technical scope, BOM, vendor quotations, services, and commercial costing.\nReview proposal quality and completeness before submission.\n4. Technico-Commercial & Costing Responsibilities\nPrepare and review complete project cost estimates.\nDevelop cost build-ups covering hardware, software, engineering, project management, FAT / SAT, installation, testing & commissioning, site services, training, travel & mobilization, vendor and subcontractor scope.\nPerform BOM development and engineering-hour estimation.\nEvaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.\nIdentify missing scope, commercial exposure, and technical risks.\nSupport pricing strategy, cost optimization, value engineering, and margin improvement.\nEnsure appropriate consideration of execution risks and contingencies.\nThe candidate must have hands-on ownership of complete bid costing, including BOM development, engineering estimation, vendor costs, services, project execution costs, risk provisions, and commercial optimization.\n5. OEM & Vendor Coordination\nPrepare technical RFQs for OEMs, suppliers, subcontractors, and technology partners.\nReview vendor proposals for technical compliance and completeness.\nIdentify scope gaps, assumptions, exclusions, and deviations.\nDefine clear vendor scope boundaries and interface responsibilities.\nCoordinate multi-vendor solutions where required.\nSupport technical and commercial negotiations.\n6. Technical Compliance & Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with customer specifications and applicable standards.\nIdentify technical, integration, execution, and vendor-related risks during the bid stage.\nEnsure missing scope and third-party dependencies are addressed.\nRecommend mitigation measures for identified risks.\nParticipate in technical and bid risk reviews for complex and strategic opportunities.\n7. Technical Leadership & Team Development\nLead and mentor Proposal Engineers assigned to the team.\nAllocate proposal tasks based on competency, workload, and priority.\nMonitor quality, progress, and deadlines.\nProvide technical guidance and review engineering outputs.\nDevelop junior and mid-level engineers through mentoring and cross-training.\nIdentify competency gaps and recommend development plans.\nBuild backup capability to reduce dependency on individual resources.\nSupport other Solution Architects where specialist expertise is required.\n8.
