This position is critical in utilizing data to identify fraud trends, developing and deploying strategies to fight against fraud attacks across all channels of credit card transactions, and managing the performance of fraud strategies to meet the company KPIs.\n What you do at Avant:\nDevelop and implement fraud rules using analytical methods like segmentation, predictive models, hypothesis testing, etc.\n\nUse visualization tools like Databricks to build dashboards and monitor key performance indicators\n\nDevelop and implement ad hoc unsupervised learning models-including clustering algorithms (such as K-means)-to identify anomalous patterns and segment data for in-depth analysis in large, complex datasets\n\nUse data to understand new ways of finding impactful insights from limited data sets and develop recommendations\n\nAssist with data wrangling and automation of data pipelines for real time alerting and performance monitoring\n\nOwn and run key processes to reduce fraud losses.\n\nAnalyze data, create models/strategies, and recommend solutions for the latest fraud trends.\n\nWork with stakeholders throughout the company to identify opportunities for leveraging company data and third-party vendor data to drive business solutions\n\nWork with the team to measure impact and make updates to the model/strategies and services as needed.\n\nCommunicate results, explain behavior of models/strategies, and set appropriate expectations with stakeholders.\n\nStrategize on building models and assist with deployments into production.\n\nDoing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner to Sr. Management\n\n Why you’re a fit:\nBachelor's Degree in Technology, Statistics, Business Analytics, related field (Master's Or PHD preferred), or comparable experience\n\n5+ years of analytical experience in the consumer finance industry (Identity or Transactional fraud experience preferred)\n\n5+ years of experience leveraging data tools such as SQL, R, Python\n\n5+ years of experience conducting data analytics in a lending/banking organization\n\nAbility to translate analysis results into clearly defined and implementable strategies/rules\n\nStrong quantitative and problem-solving skills with key attention to detail\n\nHigh level of inquisitiveness, initiative, and critical thinking\n\nAbility to independently manage small to medium projects and provide support for larger projects, ensuring implementation and team collaboration.\n\nProven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management\n\nPrior experience in statistics and machine learning modeling techniques through coursework or professional experience\n\nDemonstrates sound judgment in selecting solutions and methods\n\nProven ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\n\nThis role is based on our downtown Chicago Office, located in the Merchandise Mart. We highly value collaboration and our hybrid schedule (M, T, Th in-office) enables flexibility to balance work and individual priorities.\nCompensation Range:\nThe base salary range for this job is USD $100,000 - USD $130,000/ Year\nEmployees new to Avant typically come in below the midpoint of the pay range.
