The successful candidate will demonstrate sound industry knowledge, superior communications, and detail-oriented organizational skills. This role reports to our Y. \n Associates of Project Valuation and Analytics at Avantus support financial modeling, valuation, and analytical work across the company’s utility-scale renewable energy project portfolio. This role will contribute to project investment decisions by developing financial models, analyzing market assumptions, and preparing materials used in internal investment reviews and project financing processes. \nThis position offers exposure to the full lifecycle of renewable energy development and project finance. \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES \nDevelop and update financial models for utility-scale renewable energy project portfolio. \nSupport valuation analysis including IRR, NPV, and cash flow projections. \nConduct sensitivity analysis on key variables including power prices, capital costs, operating expenses, and financing terms. \nAnalyze power price forecasts, storage revenue opportunities, and contract structures. \nSupport evaluation of PPA pricing, merchant exposure, and capacity revenues. \nWork closely with Development and Commercial teams to update project economics as development milestones are achieved. \nTrack key project assumptions including interconnection costs, capital expenditures, and operating expenses. \nAssist with preparation of investment memos, lender presentations, and financial summaries. \nSupport due diligence processes for project financing and acquisitions. \nMaintain project valuation databases and analytical tools. \nSupport improvements to financial modeling templates and analytics workflows. \nREQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field \n2-5 years of experience in renewable energy, project finance, energy consulting, or investment banking \nExposure to financial modeling and infrastructure or energy project economics \nStrong Excel and financial modeling capabilities \nAnalytical mindset with attention to detail \nAbility to synthesize quantitative analysis into clear insights \nAvantus offers competitive compensation with an excellent benefits package, including 401(k) matching; comprehensive medical and dental plan options; and flexible PTO.
