As Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in creating vision, setting goals, and fostering high engagement in alignment with Avanza's strategy.\nAbout the Role\nThe entire Product & Tech organization consists of around 35 development teams that collectively build our platform, services, and offerings. In your role as Engineering Manager, you will work closely with 1-2 cross-functional teams and have direct line management responsibility for the software developers.\nThis role is connected to the teams responsible for building and advancing Avanza's customer and account lifecycle. Our objective is to ensure that the entire organization has seamless access to high-quality, reliable, and up-to-date customer and account data whenever needed. You will balance business acumen with technical direction to deliver concrete value for both our customers and the company.\nYou will also be responsible for/work with:\nLeading, coaching, and empowering developers in your team while taking full responsibility for line management and the work environment.\n\nCreating optimal conditions for a high-performing, healthy team and guiding them toward high-quality, efficient technical deliveries.\n\nEnsuring that technical initiatives align with product strategies and supporting teams in building robust, sustainable solutions.\n\nDriving our cloud evolution toward GCP and exploring AI-driven ways of working within team processes.\n\nSupporting autonomous teams in developing their own working methods while fostering an insight-led, collaborative environment.\n\nYour profile\nTo thrive as our Engineering Manager, you are a supportive, present leader with a genuine interest in people. You possess strong collaborative skills, a delivery-oriented mindset, and confidence in technical decision-making, enabling you to translate business goals into sustainable architecture and concrete execution.\nWe would love to see that you have:\nProven experience in direct line management and leading software engineers.\n\nA background in modern software engineering, ideally with experience in data-intensive systems.\n\nA solid understanding of data quality, system architecture, and well-designed APIs.\n\nA relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nIt is a plus if you have:\nExperience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\n\nExperience in leading through change and driving technical modernization initiatives.\n\nCuriosity or hands-on experience regarding AI tools and data-driven software development practices.\n\nTo succeed in this role, you bring strong self-leadership, a collaborative approach, and the ability to bridge strategic direction with technical reality.
