By 2030, our goal is to be fully cloud-based and \"AI-first”.\nAbout the Role\nIn this role, you will be a key player in building up a new team consisting of developers, data engineers, a product manager and an engineering manager. Together, you will design, implement, further develop, and maintain high-performing products and systems within the Marketing Technology (Martech) domain.\nAs a Software/Data Engineer in the Martech team, you will work closely with the business and get to tackle domain-specific engineering challenges-focusing on personalized experiences, data-driven development, and scaled performance.\nYour key responsibilities will include:\nDesigning, implementing, and managing products and microservices architecture within the Martech domain.\n\nConducting technical investigations and feasibility studies to support well-founded architecture decisions.\n\nTaking active part in design processes-both technically and in shaping the product roadmap alongside the business.\n\nParticipating in agile ceremonies (standups, retros, planning) with rotating responsibility, as well as shared weekly responsibility for unmapped work, bug handling, and support (\"KA\").\n\nChallenging existing solutions with innovative, efficient ways to solve complex domain problems.\n\nWho We Are Looking For\nTo thrive in this role, you are a curious, solution-oriented developer who enjoys taking technical ownership while maintaining a collaborative, team-first mindset. You communicate clearly, feel comfortable backing up your ideas with data and logic, and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and evolve. You appreciate an environment with low prestige, high trust, and a strong focus on delivering real value to our customers.\nAvanza is currently transitioning to English as our primary language. We welcome English-speaking candidates who are comfortable working in an environment where Swedish is still used in day-to-day communication, meetings, and documentation. We expect this to evolve as we continue our transformation.\nWe would love to see that you have:\nAt least 4-5 years of relevant professional experience in system development.\n\nSolid, hands-on experience with Java and it´s surrounding ecosystem.\n\nHave hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and a curiosity to explore how AI can enhance our work.\n\nA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent self-taught knowledge.\n\nIt is a great bonus if you have experience or interest in:\nMarketing Technology (Martech), personalization, or streaming data.\n\nTechnologies such as Spring, MongoDB, BigQuery, dbt, Spanner and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).\n\nModern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React) and microservices architecture.\n\nEvent-driven architecture, CI/CD, and test automation.\n\nDomain knowledge from Fintech, insurance, or pensions.\n\nWhat We Offer\nAt Avanza, you get to work with modern technologies in an open, helpful, and innovative atmosphere.
