Do you have experience or qualifications in Engineering?\nAs an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our people across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team, based at our Telford site.\nThe role is factory based, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.\nYou’ll be working a rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern (06:00-18:30 and 18:00-06:30)\nWhat will you be doing as an Engineer at Avara?\nAs a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer you will optimise machinery output and product quality, and minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, efficient breakdown response whilst maintaining a safe and healthy environment and promoting good engineering practice.\nWhat will your key responsibilities include?\nTaking a lead role within your team during breakdowns with your skills and experience.\nEnsuring that maintenance is carried out in line with PPM schedules and that effective and efficient corrective action is taken.\nQuick and effective response to breakdowns in more than one area on site, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting possible improvements to prevent further breakdowns occurring.\nCommunicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption.\nFollowing engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department & site.\nEnsuring all activities are carried out within health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer.\nTimely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues.\nDemonstrating basic fault finding techniques to identify root cause of issues.\nRaising Stock and Non-Stock request forms.\nUse of the CMMS system for spare parts, to log and complete jobs.\nWhat you’ll need to be successful:\nAn advanced Engineering Apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical disciplines\nSolid Engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing\nFamiliarity with process machinery or equivalent equipment and have the ability to fault find\nMechanical fitting skills. Machining, welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous. \nThe ability to mentor colleagues\nA self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment\nAn individual who is keen to make a difference with their pro-activeness and a can-do attitude.\nIndustrial refrigeration experience is desirable but not essential. \nDesirable IEE 17th or 18th edition\nDesirable Advanced Electrical qualification\nDesirable good knowledge of PLCs, Variable speed drives and control systems\nThe benefits of working for Avara Foods:\nAs an Engineer you will enjoy a secure, supportive and progressive working environment, where your contribution and achievements will be recognised and rewarded.\nWe offer comprehensive training as well as continuous development as you build your long-term career with us.
