Join us as a Primary Team Leader and become a key part of our ambitious team, bringing our vision to life and making a meaningful impact every day.\nPurpose of the role:\nAs the Primary Team Leader, you will be responsible for liaising with the on-shift Primary Team and coordinating downtime events, ensuring minimal impact on bird welfare, operational efficiency, and value loss.\nWorking Hours\nMonday - Friday 04:30am -13:30pm J&F / Sunday 12:45am -21:45pm, Monday - Thursday 13:30pm-22:30pm J&F\nWhat will you be doing as Primary Team Leader, at Avara?\nAs the Primary Team Leader, you will be responsible for liaising with the on-shift Primary Team and coordinating downtime events, ensuring minimal impact on bird welfare, operational efficiency, and value loss.\nWhat will your key responsibilities as a Primary Team Leader include?\nUpdate and maintain information- also performance tracking\nEnsure all data/information is accurately recorded for Primary performance reviews\nWork with the Shift Manager reviewing abnormalities on performance data\nLiaise and contribute with all the Primary Team Leaders to ensure successful processing of daily targets\nBe responsible for coordinating downtime and significant loss events in the Primary process\nAssist the shift manager in ensuring the best possible outcome managing bird welfare, people and product\nWork with engineering to make improvements for the areas, time scales and action plans\nImplement improvements driven from the Shift Manager and Primary colleagues\nMaximize improvement through continual review of operations and by instigating improvements where necessary and drive through any changes\nIdentify and target areas to improve OEE performance of the Primary process\nEnsure schedules are reviewed and issues communicated and escalated\nCoordinate with personnel, to produce quality products to schedule, whilst maintaining a safe, efficient and cost-effective operation with maximum utilization of resources\nReview results from the area and report back to appropriate management team\nEnsure employee and product safety always, ensuring full training is given according to task procedures and individual needs\nMaintaining adherence to Avara Foods safety and hygiene standards\nEnsure all Company policies, standards, processes are met and adhered to by all personnel on shift.\nWhat you’ll need to be successful:\nEssential\nSecondary level education\nMinimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/FMCG environment (ideally food processing)\nAt least 2 years’ experience in a production supervisory role\nStrong leadership and people management skills\nGood communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to work under pressure and make effective decisions\nA solid understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards\nProficiency with computer systems and production data tracking\nAbility to train, coach and develop team members\nFlexibility to work shifts and adapt to business needs\nDesirable\nNVQ Level 3 or 4 in Management (or equivalent)\nExperience using OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and performance metrics\nKnowledge of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing practices\nThe benefits of working for Avara Foods:\nAs a Primary Team Leader, you will enjoy a secure, supportive, and progressive working environment, where your contribution and achievements will be recognised and rewarded.
