Compensation depends on experience.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe Teacher Aide works cooperatively with Teacher in planning, preparing, and implementing all classroom activities and field trips. Facilitates parent engagement through conferences, home visits, and attendance at parent meetings and encourages classroom volunteer participation.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssists Teacher in planning and preparing all classroom activities and field trips. \nRecords observations of children and assists Teacher in planning & implementing program to meet children’s physical, social, emotional and educational needs, and achieve child outcomes; works with teacher to use outcome reports in classroom planning and use IEP in planning.\nPrepares and supervises nutritious meals and snacks as required by program and/or staffing.\nShares in maintenance of center, equipment, and supplies. \nPer licensing requirements, serves as bus monitor as necessary.\nCompletes programmatic and Agency reports as required.\nAssists teacher with home visits, on site visits, and parent conferences; works with teacher and parents to develop individual plans for children based on screenings and observations.\nNON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerforms additional duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nQUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:\nExperience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skill requirements are considered essential:\nExperience\nLess than one year of experience working with children in a child care setting required\nClassroom in Early Childhood Education\nPlanning for individual needs\nSkills:\nExcellent Listening skills\nUse Microsoft Office applications and other computer software as applicable to the position\nCommunicate with and relate to young children\nWork with a diverse population \nRead, analyze, comprehend, and apply written procedures \nEducation and Knowledge Requirements: The following education and knowledge requirements are considered essential:\nCurrent CDA and in process of attaining a college degree\nHead Start Performance Standards, preferred\nChild Care License Regulations\nFirst Aid and CPR certification \nOther Requirements: Additional requirements that are considered essential:\nAbility to work a flexible schedule\nMust pass required background checks\nMust hold current C.H.R.C. \nMust have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and provide proof of insurance\nGENERAL EXPECTATIONS:\nMaintains and promotes the highest level of understanding of the Agency's Mission, Vision, and Goals.\nMaintains confidentiality; protects the Agency by keeping information concerning employees, those we serve, and the Agency itself confidential.\nFollows all safety policies and procedures with a \"safety first\" approach to all job duties.\nExhibits a positive, professional, and collaborative attitude with others inside and outside the Agency.\nExhibits teamwork through effective internal communication and working relationships.\nIs punctual for scheduled work and uses time appropriately.\nPerforms required amount of work in a timely fashion with a minimum of errors.\nParticipates in trainings, conferences, and meetings as necessary.\nPossesses and exhibits the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity.\nRepresents the Agency in the community as appropriate to the role.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the Incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
