Your primary responsibility will involve analyzing existing PLC-based systems, supporting migration strategies, and contributing to the re-architecture of legacy industrial solutions into scalable and maintainable technology frameworks. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex modernization programs while expanding your expertise in industrial software transformation, system integration, and automation technologies.\nCore skills you’ll bring\n2+ years of experience in PLC development or industrial automation.\n\nStrong knowledge of PLC programming concepts and industrial control systems.\n\nHands-on experience with at least one major PLC ecosystem, including Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Beckhoff, or Schneider Electric.\n\nExperience analyzing and modernizing legacy industrial systems.\n\nUnderstanding of software architecture, refactoring practices, and migration projects.\n\nStrong problem-solving and system integration skills.\n\nUpper-Intermediate English level or higher.\n\nAbility to work effectively within international and cross-functional teams.\n\nNice-to-have\nExperience with PLCopen standards and related tools.\n\nKnowledge of object-oriented design principles.\n\nExperience with industrial software modernization or digital transformation programs.\n\nBackground in the automotive industry.\n\nExperience with Object-Oriented Industrial Programming in TwinCAT, CODESYS, or similar environments.\n\nThe impact you'll create\nAnalyze existing PLC-based solutions and legacy implementations to identify modernization opportunities.\n\nSupport re-architecture initiatives that transition legacy PLC-centric systems to modern technology frameworks.\n\nRefactor monolithic and poorly documented legacy code into modular and reusable architectures.\n\nApply object-oriented programming concepts within modern industrial automation environments.\n\nOptimize memory mapping, user-defined data types (UDTs), and tag structures to improve maintainability and performance.\n\nDesign and implement standardized state-machine approaches, including PackML-based models.\n\nCollaborate with Wind River and customer stakeholders to understand technical requirements and migration objectives.\n\nContribute to system integration, design reviews, modernization planning, and technical recommendations.\n\n What supports your journey\nOpportunity to work on large-scale industrial modernization and transformation projects.\n\nCollaborative international environment with engineering experts and industry specialists.\n\nExposure to modern industrial automation technologies and architectural best practices.\n\nProfessional growth through challenging migration and re-engineering initiatives.\n\nFlexible collaboration within globally distributed teams.\n\nPeople are at the core of Avenga.
