Your primary responsibility will involve developing, maintaining, and enhancing mission-critical mainframe applications supporting core banking products and payment ecosystems. You will contribute to high-impact initiatives across accounts, deposits, cards, and payment services, ensuring reliable and scalable solutions that support business operations and customer transactions.\nThis position is hybrid and requires on-site work 3 times a week in CABA.\n\nCore skills you’ll bring\nProven experience as a Senior Mainframe Developer within the banking or financial services industry.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with COBOL development in both Batch and Online environments.\n\nSolid knowledge of DB2, CICS, JCL, and IBM Mainframe technologies.\n\nExperience working with TSO/ISPF and SQL.\n\nStrong understanding of core banking systems and transaction processing.\n\nFunctional knowledge of accounts, savings accounts, checking accounts, and time deposit products.\n\nExperience supporting payment services and banking transaction platforms.\n\nNice-to-have\nExperience with card processing systems and payment ecosystems.\n\nKnowledge of merchant payments, acquiring, and processor integrations.\n\nExperience with credit card and debit card platforms.\n\nUnderstanding of chargeback and merchant settlement processes.\n\nPrevious experience working in large-scale banking transformation initiatives.\n\nThe impact you'll create\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance COBOL-based applications supporting core banking operations.\n\nDesign and implement solutions for accounts, savings, checking accounts, and time deposit products.\n\nSupport the development and maintenance of payment services and transaction processing systems.\n\nContribute to card-related platforms, including credit and debit card solutions.\n\nAnalyze business requirements and translate them into reliable mainframe solutions.\n\nCollaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to support banking modernization initiatives.\n\nPerform application maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and performance optimization.\n\nEnsure the stability, integrity, and availability of critical banking applications.\n\nPeople are at the core of Avenga.
