Avery Dennison is an American materials science company whose predecessor invented the self-adhesive label in 1935, and it remains the largest supplier of pressure-sensitive label materials in the world. Its more interesting recent business is intelligent labels: radio frequency identification tags applied to individual items of clothing, food and medical supplies, which let a retailer or hospital know what it actually has rather than what its records claim. Headquartered in Mentor, Ohio and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it supplies materials to converters and printers rather than selling finished labels to end users.

We are a global materials science and digital identification solutions company with locations in over 50 countries, and approximately 35,000 employees worldwide. As a science and innovation company, we believe that diverse teams are stronger teams. We are committed to fostering a culture of curiosity and courage, where you can grow your career with a company that has innovation in its DNA. Founded on creating real-world impact to enable a better future, we strive to provide an open, collaborative culture where diversity of thought is encouraged and respected. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Maintenance and technicians to maintain equipment in optimal operating condition, and provide timely, actionable feedback to Coating Department Process Engineers to drive incoming material quality improvements.

  • Standardization, Safety & Capital Projects: Document process and equipment changes, update standard work instructions and training documentation for operations in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, prepare capital investment justifications, and actively engage in the site safety process.

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline) required.

  • Experience: 2-4 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Technical & Statistical Acumen: Knowledge and hands-on experience utilizing statistical analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

  • Project & Change Management: Strong project management capabilities with a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects, leading cross-functional improvement teams, developing functional improvement plans, and applying change management principles.

  • Communication & Operational Flexibility: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the plant (Operations, Maintenance, Business Unit Managers, and Divisional Resources); ability to compile data-driven technical reports, with the willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
