This covers the full process: requirements, schematic, PCB layout, prototype fabrication, testing, and EMC compliance. You do the layout yourself in Altium Designer. You also stay with the board through DFM and into production.\nThe team is nine engineers across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software.\nResponsibilities\nDesign schematics and PCB layouts in Altium Designer for ground station and airside boards\n\nWork on mixed-signal designs covering power conversion, motor drive, CAN FD, microcontrollers, and sensors\n\nSelect components based on datasheet review, derating, and availability\n\nDesign for EMC from the start: grounding, return paths, filtering, shielding, and isolation\n\nRun pre-compliance EMC tests and fix failures before they reach the certification phase\n\nSupport certification work for EMC, radio, and safety standards including EN 55032, EN 55035, EN 61000, and IEC 62368-1\n\nBring up your own boards and debug them at the bench\n\nReview fab and assembly feedback, design in test points and test coverage, and support production builds\n\nKeep BOMs, revisions, and ECOs in order\n\nTake part in design reviews, both as the person presenting and the person reviewing\n\nFor airside boards, you will also need to work within weight and size limits and thermal management.\nRequirements\nDegree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience\n\n3 to 6 years designing electronic hardware that went into production\n\nGood working knowledge of Altium Designer, including multilayer layout and impedance control\n\nPractical EMC design experience — you can explain why a board passed or failed\n\nAble to design boards to meet EN 55032, EN 55035, and the EN 61000 series for CE EMI/EMC compliance\n\nExperience with switch-mode power supplies\n\nUnderstanding of high-voltage design rules (creepage, clearance, isolation, protection)\n\nExperience designing around microcontrollers such as STM32: power sequencing, clocks, memory, and peripherals\n\nFamiliar with CAN or CAN FD, or a similar industrial bus\n\nComfortable using an oscilloscope, spectrum analyser, and power meter\n\nGood to have\nCE marking experience, in particular the EMC, radio, and safety directives\n\nExperience in drones, robotics, aerospace, or defence\n\nCertification experience in other markets such as FCC, UKCA, or VCCI\n\nBLDC motor drive design (FOC, gate drivers)\n\nExperience with fiber optics or high-speed serial links\n\nEnough firmware skill to write your own bring-up code\n\nSkills\nElectromagnetic Compatibility, High Voltage Direct Current System Engineering and Design, Power Switches, High Availability, EMC, Electronic board, Certification Testing, Altium Designer, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Shielding, CAN bus, PCB Layout Design, Test Design, Test bench setup, Power Conversion, Stm32","description_format":"text","description_chars":2897,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Robotics","Drones & UAVs"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-26T02:00:33Z"}],"liveness":{"score":72,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.764,"p_room":0.945,"age_days":10,"expected_fill_days":18,"reasons":["seen:10","velocity","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":56376,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/avetics-global-electronic-design-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/avetics-global-electronic-design-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T18:02:24Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":263,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4737,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
