Proactively manage and drive high-performing, standardised service delivery ensuring effective controls resulting in strong customer service.\nTo support the implementation of programmes of continuous improvement within finance.\nKey accountabilities and decision ownership:\nManage a high performing team optimising performance and commitment by setting goals and agreeing objectives\nSupporting the adaptability and flexibility of workload and team movements to facilitate high levels of customer service across the SSC managing working hours where required to cover regional time zones\nMaintain close relationships with customer/stakeholder groups, monitoring and seeking feedback on team performance, providing resolution of issues and agreeing improvement plans as required.\nSupport and input to a programme of continuous improvement delivery so that best practice is embedded, and efficiencies are delivered.\nManage the performance of the Record to Report function ensuring that processes are standardised, documented and that KPIs are used to demonstrate delivery with service levels being met or exceeded\nEnsure all policy and legal requirements are adhered to by operating within a framework of compliance, which protects customers and the team and minimises risk to the business\nEnsure the integrity of financial records for all relevant entities, raising issues where there is any deviation\nTeam activities include:providing financial and regulatory information.\n responsibility will be timely, effective and efficient processing of general ledger-related transactions including fixed assets and journal entries\nreconciliation of general ledger accounts and subledgers and performing period end closing activities including accruals, revenue recognition and reporting and essential controlling and bank activities.\nadhering to all control requirements as outlined in the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) which includes overseeing the timely and accurate loading of control evidence, validating completeness and accuracy, and ensuring documentation is maintained in accordance with the requirements.\n\nSkills, know-how and experience:\nMust have:\nStrong sense of integrity always does the right thing and encourages others to behave in the same way.\nOperational accounting and reporting experience\nGood understanding of finance systems\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to manage a team.\nAble to operate comfortably at a detailed as well as a Managerial level.\nStrong experience of understanding and interpreting control and operational risk\nTechnical / professional qualifications:\nAccounting or Business Administration qualifications\nStrong MS Office, Excel and Oracle knowledge as well as experience in the Business and Accounting systems used in the function\nPreferred:\nExperience in managing a team preferably in a shared services environment\nAdditional language skills\nDirect reports:\nDirect Reports: Team of up to 10 Team members\nKey Stakeholders:\nRecord to Report Process Owner\nRegional finance team\nInternal Audit\nFinance at AVEVA\nOur team of almost 500 Finance professionals are central to AVEVA’s £1bn+ business.
