In this role, you will help design, develop, and scale AI-enabling platform services, agentic workflows, and public APIs that are secure, reliable, and cloud-native. This role is ideal for an engineer with a genuine passion for keeping up with the latest AI engineering patterns and practices, eager to translate emerging tech into reliable, enterprise-ready software.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure. \nDevelop and maintain clean, responsive web user interfaces and developer tools using Angular to complement core AI platform services and public APIs. \nDevelop secure, well-documented public APIs and SDKs for consumption by internal engineering teams and external partners. \nDrive feature implementation from design to production, taking ownership of code quality, performance, and system reliability. \nPartner with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions across data pipelines, orchestration layers, and service APIs. \nEmbed robust security controls, identity management, and privacy-by-design practices across all AI services. \nActively contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to champion engineering best practices. \nSupport and mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. \nCore Skills and Qualifications:\n5-8+ years of software engineering experience across the full stack, with strong expertise in cloud-native backend development (.NET C# a plus) and modern web frameworks (Angular). \nHands-on experience with containerised deployments in Kubernetes. \nDeep understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, testing, and full lifecycle management. \nStrong knowledge of securing APIs (OAuth2, OIDC, RBAC) and implementing data privacy best practices. \nProficiency in using modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate daily engineering workflows. \nStrong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of analysing complex technical challenges and delivering scalable solutions. \nExperience working in Agile/Scrum teams across distributed global R&D locations. \nProven ability to mentor colleagues and elevate team code quality. \nR&D at AVEVA\nOur global team of 2000+ developers work on an incredibly diverse portfolio of over 75 industrial automation and engineering products, which cover everything from data management to 3D design.
