We believe that success starts with a sound team and that an inclusive and diverse workplace moves us all forward.\nXTG is a global team that develops, designs, and supports experiential projects in partnership with AVI-SPL regional offices.\nAs part of XTG (Experience Technology Group), Design Engineers provide proposal details and pre-sales coordination for creative AV designs to enable experiential storytelling. This customer-facing, senior design role supports pre-sales creative engineering and provides on-going post-sales project support.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nA XTG Design Engineer’s main function is to provide pre and post sales support by acting as a technical consultant to the delivering office with generating functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams, estimating hours, highlighting logistical challenges for the delivering office's team to consider while pricing the opportunity, and equipment lists to enable generation of customer proposals. A Design Engineer is also leveraged by the post sales team for project engineering and or on gong project consultation. In addition, this role is expected to review and validate the work of a Project Engineer. This position will support the XTG Simulation COE, with an emphasis on Medical Simulation projects.\nDay-to-Day Responsibilities:\nProvide creative technology design support, in partnership with XTG Creative Technologists, for XTG and their partners\nTranslate customer requirements of XTG Creative Technologist or Creative Partner vision into functional system designs and proposals\nCommunicate design intent with hand sketches, electronic drawings, renderings, diagrams, outlines, storyboards, and/or narratives\nTake ownership of problem-solving\nDevelop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculations, and facilitate coordination with other disciplines and trades\nReview pre-construction design and documentation\nAssist with technical design pricing and identify any logistical challenges\nGenerate functional system descriptions and block diagrams\nProvide engineering support to project installation team when needed\nServe as Customer liaison for engineering inquiries\nMeet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products and identify new creative technologies\nPost sales project consultation\nReview and validate the work of lower-level Design and Project Engineers\nSupport of meetings outside of local time zones is required (approximately 20 times per year)\nOther duties as needed\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\nMust Haves:\nExcellent customer-facing and communication skills\nAbility to communicate and interact with internal employees, clients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner\nTrack record of designing and implementing experiential AV solutions\nAdvanced proficiency in Networking and AVoIP solutions\nAbility to work and think creatively and independently with a \"how can it be done\" mentality to ensure deadlines are met and problems are solved\nAbility to diagnose complex system problems\nProficiency with test and calibration equipment\nSupport user acceptance testing\nAdvanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment\nAbility to travel internationally is required\nValid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards\nAVIXA CTS\nNice-to-Haves:\nFormal education in Systems Engineering, Networking, Electronics or related field preferred\nPrevious work with consultancy, creative agency, production house or creative fabricator preferred\nAt least 10 years of AV experience is preferred\nCTS-I and CTS-D preferred\nA minimum of 6 *years of AV experience plus a four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience\nWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE\nMedical benefits, including vision and dental\nPaid holidays, sick days, and personal days\nEnjoyable and dynamic company culture\nTraining and professional development opportunities\nMORE ABOUT US\nAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
