This position will support the Operations and Engineering Manager while serving as a change agent to help improve overall communication, project execution, and efficiency within programming. The Programming Supervisor manages the delivery, development, and implementation of software solutions for internal and external clients. This function includes resource management, delivery management, and service oversight of software projects installed on customer sites. The Programming Supervisor will be responsible for supervising technical employees to ensure software solutions are met for internal and external customers.\nDay-To-Day Responsibilities:\nSupport the office Management as a subject matter expert and escalation resource in coordination with \noperations management.\nProvide leadership and guidance to programming team by coaching and motivating to successfully perform job requirements and to meet and exceed goals and objectives.\nShare, teach, and reinforce the use of AVI-SPL standard practice across the team.\nCommunicate through daily huddles with the team to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate completion of programming tasks.\nLead the programming team with a positive attitude that is in alignment with teamwork, mission, vision, and values of the organization.\nSupport leadership with establishing departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedure.\nPerform frequent spot checks of team’s work to ensure accuracy and adherence to all company standards.\nConduct lessons learned meetings as necessary.\nParticipates and helps author Statements of Work (SOW) and respond to Requests for Proposal.\nMaintain close relationships with AVI-SPL business units, external vendors, and customers to ensure the team is up to date with current technologies and products.\nStay up to date with AV advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization.\nContribute to improving process workflows, maintaining system administration, scheduling, and resources for the department.\nParticipate in the interviewing and hiring process of new employees.\nResponsible for personnel management and managing adequate staffing levels.\nCoordinates training and assessment of employees and new hires.\nSome travel maybe required in support of the job requirements. \nPerform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\nMust-Haves:\n6 years experience in programming\nMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.\nAbility to mentor, educate, and develop members of the team.\nCommunicate and interact with internal employees, clients, and colleagues in a professional and \ntimely manner.\nStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.\nExceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills.\nExcellent capability to switch tasks while adapting to changing priorities.\nEnergized self-starter capable of working and thinking independently and ensuring to meet deadlines.\nMust have clear and professional communication skills (written and oral) both internally and externally.\nProficient in software IDE’s to be able to conduct code reviews and ensure the programming deliverables of others are met.\nDemonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills.\nAdvanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment.\nEmployees operating company or personal vehicles for business purposes must be legally authorized to drive, maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of coverage, meeting all minimum required insurance coverage as a condition of employment.\nEmployees driving fleet vehicles must meet eligibility requirements; comply with all guidelines, including telematics monitoring, vehicle maintenance schedules, proper use of assigned fuel and toll devices.\nNice-To-Haves:\nB.S, degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field is preferred.\nAV experience is preferred.\nMilitary experience may be considered in place of job experience\nExperience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx etc.) - both hardware and software.\nExperience with Crestron, AMX, Extron or other AV programming is preferred.\nExperience with object orientated programming languages is preferred.\nAVIXA CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred.\nCOMPENSATION\nPay Type\nMin Base\nMax Base\nHourly\nCAD $40.97\nCAD $52.26\nActual compensation will be determined based on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nPrimarily seated work at a computer workstation.\nOccasional standing and walking.\nFrequent use of computer and phone equipment.\nOccasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.\nClimate-controlled office environment.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.\nWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE\nMedical benefits, including vision and dental\nPaid holidays and PTO\nEnjoyable and dynamic company culture\nTraining and professional development opportunities\nMORE ABOUT US\nAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
