This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate technical information into accessible content for a variety of audiences.\nDay-To-Day Responsibilities:\nCreate, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation-including user manuals, setup guides, API documentation, online help guides, video tutorials, FAQs, and process documentation-to ensure users can easily learn and effectively use software applications.\nTranslate complex technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content for both technical and non-technical audiences\nCollaborate with product managers, developers, and customer support to gather information and ensure accuracy\nCraft clear, exciting release notes that tell users what bugs were fixed and what new features were added.\nReview our software’s buttons, menus, and error messages to make sure they use simple, clear language.\nCreate pictures, diagrams, and charts to show users how features work.\nOrganize and structure content in a logical, intuitive manner\nReview and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability\nEnsure documentation adheres to company standards, style guides, and branding guidelines\nManage documentation projects, timelines, and version control\nConduct usability testing and incorporate feedback to improve documentation quality\nMaintain documentation repositories and content management systems\nPerform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.\nAttend relevant meetings, workshops, and working sessions as required, capturing key discussions, decisions, actions, and outcomes and translating them into clear, structured documentation.\nLeverage AI tools where appropriate to support efficient notetaking, summarisation, and documentation.\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\nMust-Haves:\nBachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field\n2-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer or similar role\nStrong writing, editing, and proofreading skills\nAbility to understand and explain complex technical concepts\nExperience with documentation tools\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAnalytical thinking and problem-solving\nCollaboration and cross-functional teamwork\nTime management and prioritization\nAdaptability and continuous learning\nAttention to detail and accuracy\nNice-To-Haves:\nExperience writing for technical audiences in software, IT, engineering, or related industries\nFamiliarity with Agile or Scrum environments\nBasic understanding of programming languages or APIs\nExperience with content management systems (CMS) or documentation platforms\nKnowledge of UX writing principles or information architecture\nWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE\n\nMedical benefits, including vision and dental\nPaid holidays and PTO\nEnjoyable and dynamic company culture\nTraining and professional development opportunities\nMORE ABOUT US\n\nAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
