This opportunity is ideal for an experienced lineworker who is passionate about sharing their expertise, mentoring future professionals, and making a lasting impact on the industry.\nAbout the Role \nThe Certified Professional Journeyman Lineworker Trainer plays a vital role in shaping the future of the linework industry. This position is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction that equips students with the technical skills, professional behaviors, and safety practices required for success in this critical and demanding field. \nKey Responsibilities \nProfessional Development & Industry Expertise \nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices, including OSHA standards and NESC codes. \nEngage in ongoing professional development, workshops, and conferences. \nPromote an enthusiastic, collaborative, and solutions-oriented environment. \nInstruction & Student Success \nDeliver dynamic training through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and practical field instruction. \nDevelop and execute lesson plans aligned with learning outcomes and industry standards. \nAssess student learning through quizzes, tests, and skills evaluations. \nProvide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback to support student growth. \nFoster a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused learning environment. \nStandards, Safety & Preparedness \nAdhere to policies, procedures, and the Instructor’s Pledge. \nMaintain professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. \nEnsure safety compliance at all times and prepare training areas, equipment, and materials for instruction. \nStudent Evaluation & Certification \nEvaluate student performance using competency standards and clear evaluation criteria. \nOffer individualized coaching during hands-on learning. \nCertify skill competencies only when proficiency is demonstrated. \nModel best practices through demonstrations and clear communication. \nOperational & Organizational Responsibilities \nSupport and mentor fellow trainers to maintain a strong, collaborative culture. \nBuild, operate, and maintain training facilities and equipment to our organization's high standards. \nParticipate in community events, campus activities, and public outreach. \nProtect the integrity of intellectual property and confidential information. \nServe as a brand ambassador during tours, presentations, and student interactions. \nEmbrace new challenges and contribute to team and institutional success. \nPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. \nSupervisory Responsibilities \nThe Certified Professional Trainer oversees the delivery of high-quality, standards-based training while fostering a safe, collaborative learning environment. Responsibilities may evolve as our program's structure advances under Cotulla Education. \nQualifications \nEducation \nAssociate’s degree preferred. \nExperience & Skills \nJourneyman Lineman with 10+ years of experience. \nStrong instructional ability in both classroom and field settings. \nExcellent communication skills and proficiency with technology (iPad, computers, PowerPoint, MS Office). \nDemonstrated moral character without felony convictions. \nAbility to proficiently climb wood poles and steel structures up to 100 feet. \nAbility to work on utility customer property and a demonstrated record of no prior termination from employment within the line trade. \nCertificates/Licenses \nDOL or State-recognized Journeyman Lineman certificate required. \nClass A CDL (unrestricted). \n Physical Demands & Work Environment \nPhysical Demands \nAbility to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25lbs as needed. \nFrequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and use of tools or equipment. \nExtended periods of computer or desk work may be required. \nWork Environment \nPrimarily classroom and office settings with periodic exposure to outdoor training environments. \nSchedule \nFriday through Sunday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PMand 2 hours Wednesday evenings\n Training Requirements \nParticipation in supervisor-assigned training, including orientation and campus operations training. \n Join Us \nThis is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lineworker with a passion for mentorship, education, and industry excellence.
