Responsible for ensuring that all work performed by inspectors under their supervision, whether in-house or by subcontractor, is performed in an airworthy manner and in compliance with approved technical data. \n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nMentors Quality Control inspectors on QC departmental processes and procedures.\nSupervises, directs, and assists the inspectors assigned to the Quality Control Department.\nPerforms periodic checks on inspection tools and calibrates test equipment and precision tools.\nResponsible for assuring continuity of the inspection function and completion of required inspections during all shifts. \nParticipates in interviewing internal/external candidates for Quality Control Inspector positions.\nHas countermand authority on airworthiness matters over all QC Inspectors. \nManages labor resources to meet planned workload and budgetary requirements (e.g., overtime).\nHolds periodic meetings with respective crews to provide information and to receive employee input on company and departmental issues.\nReviews training files periodically to assure the accuracy and completeness of training records.\nBe available on the floor to provide oversight, guidance, and assistance.\nMay be responsible for development and execution of Delegated Inspector training program.\nMay perform manager duties when QC Manager is unavailable.\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nPrevious supervisor experience preferred.\n\nAirframe:\nMinimum of four (4) years’ large transport category aircraft maintenance experience including two (2) years’ inspector experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nFAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.\n\nComponents:\nMinimum of four (4) years’ component shop experience including two (2) years’ inspector experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nFAA Repairman certificate required.\n\nPHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.\n\nCompensation\nThe full base pay range for this position is $98,000-$146,000 annually, not including bonuses or benefits. Your pay will be based on your experience, skills, and education, as well as internal equity to ensure fairness across the team. Candidates closer to the lower end of the range are typically building their expertise, while those at the higher end bring significant experience and specialized knowledge.
