You understand the business broadly, proactively surface opportunities beyond your own area, and mentor others to raise the quality of work across the team.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead design execution end-to-end for a significant, high-impact product area, breaking down and driving complex, loosely-defined projects to completion\nDeeply understand the tooling industry and landscape, and apply that knowledge to keep projects aligned with real customer workflows\nPartner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguity, and build consensus on direction\nDefine and own UX models and experience transitions for your product area, including how it connects to adjacent experiences\nSpot the need for new design system patterns and components, and champion their creation and documentation\nPlan, execute, and independently analyze research studies, working with stakeholders to define research goals\nMentor other designers and provide clear, actionable feedback during critiques; actively participate in hiring\nProactively identify opportunities and risks across the business, not just within your immediate area of focus\nQUALIFICATIONS\n10+ years of experience in product design or UX, with an advanced degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience\nDemonstrated ownership of one or more significant product areas end-to-end, including defining their goals and purpose\nDeep fluency with an industry-standard design tool and the ability to define new design patterns and components at the right level\nExperience independently planning, executing, and synthesizing formative and evaluative research, including defining research goals together with stakeholders\nA portfolio demonstrating complex, ambiguous projects taken from loose definition through to shipped, high-quality execution\nProven ability to build consensus among peers and stakeholders on product direction using both qualitative and quantitative reasoning\nNice to Have\nExperience designing enterprise, B2B, or highly technical products (e.g. cloud networking, security, infrastructure)\nA track record of mentoring designers and improving quality outside your own focus area\nComfort filling gaps in product requirements independently and surfacing trade-offs without heavy direction\nContribution to a design system's roadmap, documentation, or evangelism\nOccasional contribution to patent portfolios, internal innovation, or the external design community (talks, conferences, publications)\nExperience embedding AI into the design process and day-to-day design operations - using AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, prototyping, and documentation, and helping the team adopt new AI-assisted workflows\nBENEFITS\nUS: We cover 100% of employee premiums and 88% of dependent(s) premiums for medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) match, short and long-term disability, life/AD&D insurance, $1,000/year education reimbursement, and a flexible vacation policy. \nOutside the US: We offer a comprehensive benefits package which, (subject to regional variations) could include pension, private medical for you and dependents, generous holiday allowance, life assurance, long-term disability, annual wellbeing stipend\nYour total compensation package will be based on job-related knowledge, education, certifications and location, per our aligned ranges.\nAbout Aviatrix\nAviatrix® is the cloud network security company trusted by more than 500 of the world’s leading enterprises.
