We build avionics that are high-quality, intuitive, and straightforward to install - helping pilots focus on what matters most.\nWhat You'll Do\nMechanical Design & Documentation\nDesign complex electromechanical devices, electronics packaging, and human interface components for aircraft cockpit displays using advanced 3D modeling.\nDevelop and maintain engineering documentation - drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and design records - to support certification and production.\nDesign sheet metal, machined, cast, and injection molded parts with attention to structural integrity, weight optimization, and manufacturability.\nCreate and maintain design models and assemblies that integrate electrical, thermal, and mechanical subsystems within avionics products.\nVerification & Environmental Testing\nPlan and execute design verification activities, including structural analysis, thermal evaluation, and functional testing of mechanical assemblies.\nPerform environmental qualification testing in accordance with DO-160 and other applicable aviation standards, documenting results and resolving nonconformances.\nBuild and evaluate prototypes to validate design concepts and support iterative development cycles.\nAnalyze test data, identify root causes of design deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.\nProduction & Manufacturing Support\nCollaborate with manufacturing teams to transition designs from development to production, keeping design intent intact and manufacturability optimized.\nInterface with sub-assembly suppliers and contract manufacturers to communicate design requirements and resolve production issues.\nApply design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles to reduce cost and improve quality.\nSupport production troubleshooting by investigating field issues and recommending design or process improvements.\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline, plus 2+ years of relevant industry experience (or a Master's with less experience).\nApplied knowledge of mechanical design principles - stress analysis, material selection, thermal management, and structural mechanics.\nSkill in 3D CAD modeling and design documentation using SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent tools.\nGeneral familiarity with manufacturing processes: sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, and injection molding.\nAwareness of DO-160 environmental testing standards and FAA/EASA certification requirements for aviation electronics.\nCollaboration & Communication\nAbility to execute assigned design tasks independently and deliver accurate, well-documented results.\nClear written and verbal communication skills for working across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.\nOrganized approach to managing design deliverables and priorities in a fast-moving development environment.\nBonus Points\nExperience designing avionics hardware, cockpit displays, or human-machine interfaces for aircraft applications.\nFamiliarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or SolidWorks Simulation.\nFamiliarity with additive manufacturing techniques and their application to prototyping and low-volume production.\nExposure to FAA Technical Standard Orders (TSOs) or EASA certification processes.\nPrivate Pilot License (PPL) or a demonstrated personal passion for aviation.\nReady to Apply?\nIf this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you -
