We’re not just about insurance; we’re about making a real difference by protecting what matters most.\nThe Opportunity\nThe Corporate Security Manager is responsible for providing physical security governance and subject matter expertise to the Canadian business divisions, applying standards, and ensuring compliance with controls, policies, and processes.\nThis is a key role in ensuring Aviva aligns with all regulatory requirements for securing the organizations physical security buildings, assets, business, and personnel. The role also includes but not limited to security performance monitoring, measured, and reporting of the Aviva Group standards, in a cycle of continuous improvement.\nThis position will be based out of the Aviva Head Office, located in Markham, Ontario, with up to 30% travel across Aviva businesses. This role will report into the Senior Corporate Security Manager of Aviva Canada.\nCome join our team!\nWhat you’ll do:\nAccountability for delivery of security services, security strategies, standards, and governance.\n\nThe Corporate Security Manager is part of the wider Canadian Corporate Security Leadership team and has a role in supporting and leading the Group Security Standards, Controls, Policies, and assigning findings to the team.\n\nDriving improved value, SLAs, and management of possible 3rd party contracts in the security team.\n\nYou have a keen appreciation of the importance of risk and controls and can effectively conduct control testing and report gaps to management for remediation.\n\nEnsuring that annual location security reviews and/or analysis are completed throughout the year while assigning, managing, and governing findings or improvements to different business divisions.\n\nWork with Security Service Vendors to complete Preventative Maintenance across the various business locations by reviewing the documented reports and governing the risk levels and outcomes.\n\nProactively find opportunities to improve effectiveness and improvements of risk identification and management of policies and processes to manage the risks in new initiatives.\n\nBe involved in the development of the technology road map and implementation of Security tools to support the physical security team’s business needs.\n\nProactively find opportunities to refine our processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our function.\n\nEnsures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations\n\nProvide specific focus and expertise to protect Aviva from the risks associated with terrorism (both local and foreign), malicious intrusion.\n\nDevelops and cultivates strong working relationships with all collaborators; guests; regulatory bodies and team members.\n\nBuild and maintain documentation (incl. reporting as needed) on control processes and events; includes a regular periodic review and sign-off of documentation to keep content accurate and current.\n\nAble to be on-call with the Duty Manager rotation for escalations, and business impacts after-hours.\n\nTake on with the team Travel Security and Executive protection responsibilities and actions for our People, and to satisfy any of our current controls.\n\nWhat you'll bring:\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in corporate physical security within a large, complex organization, including operating at a managerial level or equivalent formal qualification in Physical Security Management.\n\nProven experience developing, implementing, and managing physical security programs and systems across multiple locations or jurisdictions.\n\nStrong understanding of physical security risk management principles, threat landscapes, and controls within a large enterprise environment (preferably financial services).\n\nDemonstrated experience managing security incidents and leading complex investigations into physical security breaches in a complex enterprise environment.\n\nAbility to assess risk, make sound decisions, and deliver effective security solutions in fast-paced, high-pressure, and time-sensitive situations.\n\nProven ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously while meeting short timelines and business demands.\n\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization and translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights.\n\nStrong leadership and people management capabilities, with a track record of driving performance and developing team effectiveness.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) to support reporting, collaboration, and program delivery.\n\nWillingness to participate in an on-call rotation to support incident escalation and business continuity needs.\n\nBilingualism (French and English) is preferred; proficiency in both languages is considered a strong asset.\n\nExperience with physical security platforms and tools (e.g., access control, CCTV, incident management systems such as Software House, Avigilon, Resolver) is an asset.\n\nWhat you’ll get :\nSalary band for this position ranges from $105,000 to $115,000.
