Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will conduct equipment and jurisdictional inspections, support loss prevention activities, and assist with basic claims investigations. You will also provide technical information to our Engineering Underwriting team.\nThis role is ideal for candidates with experience in building systems, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance who are looking to grow into a specialized technical field.\nWhat you’ll do\n·Conduct onsite inspections of insured locations to assess equipment condition, identify general risk exposures, and evaluate safe operating practices.\n Complete routine jurisdictional inspections.· Assist with loss investigations by gathering claim information and supporting documentation.\nPrepare clear and concise inspection reports, translating technical findings into easy-to-understand language.\nSupport repair approvals and follow-up documentation to ensure high standards of quality assurance.\n Provide survey information to support underwriting and the development of quotes for unique or complex accounts.\nBuild positive working relationships with brokers and accompany them on site visits to support marketing and client engagement activities. \nWhat you’ll bring\n2 to 4 years’ experience in building operations, commercial facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, or electrical/mechanical work. \nPost-secondary technical training, trades/apprentice training, or equivalent hands-on mechanical/electrical experience. \nStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. \nSelf-motivation, strong organization, and commitment to meeting deadlines. \nSolid computer skills, including MS Suite and comfort working with databases. \nValid driver’s license and ability to travel as required. \nWhat makes you stand out\nPower Engineering (Class 3 or Class 2 preferred). \nElectrical or instrumentation background \nKnowledge of ASME codes \nNational Board Commission or a willingness to obtain if required. \nCIP or CRM designation \nThe following qualifications are considered strong assets:\n National Board Commission certification\n TSSA jurisdictional inspection experience.\nWhat you’ll get\nThe salary band for this position ranges from $85,000 to $110,0000.
