The team is recognised as a centre of excellence in our Global Data Science Department - providing new data-driven insights that improve decision making across the Aviva Group.\nA bit about the job:\nYou will be a data science leader within the Personal Lines business. You will be working closely with stakeholders across the Personal Lines business to understand the challenges being faced and then lead on the execution of innovative data science solutions to drive better business and customer outcomes for our Retail business. You will build an excellent understanding of the business, its strategy, and its objectives. You will lead a team focussed on delivering solutions to support those objectives and exercise license to be creative in exploring new and innovative ways of generating value from data.\nThe ideal candidate will also have experience of being a data science leader within the Pricing & UW Analytics field of personal lines insurance.\nSkills and experience we’re looking for:\n A track record of solving complex non-routine problems with expertise in some of the following areas: Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning & AI.\n Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - able to communicate complex ideas in an understandable way often to non-specialists.\n Good commercial acumen skills and can think and act strategically.\n Ability to deliver projects, working collaboratively with colleagues across the business, or external suppliers.\n Highly numerate and/or educated to degree or postgraduate (MSc) in a field such as Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science would be an advantage for this role.\nWhat you’ll get for this role:\n Salary circa £85,000 for National based and London circa £95,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)\n Bonus opportunity 12% of annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s\n Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in\n 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days\n Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts\n Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme\n Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave\n Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work\n Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others\n We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools\nAviva is for everyone:\nWe’re inclusive and welcome everyone - we want applications from all backgrounds and experiences.
