In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced fuel cell and hydrogen energy systems, supporting projects from early concept development through system design, integration, validation, and industrial implementation. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside experts in simulation, software, testing, and engineering to help shape the next generation of sustainable energy solutions.\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDefine and develop system and subsystem requirements, functional architectures, and system layouts for fuel cell and hydrogen energy systems.\nDevelop process concepts, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), functional P&IDs, heat and mass balances, and operating strategies.\nPerform system modelling and simulation of electrochemical energy systems using 0D/1D methods to support system design, performance assessment, and optimization.\nDerive component requirements and evaluate technical supplier data for fuel cell stacks, balance-of-plant (BoP) components, and associated process systems.\nSupport industrial plant engineering and system integration activities across mechanical, electrical, software, and control engineering disciplines.\nAnalyze test data, correlate simulation and measurement results, and support verification and validation activities.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams involved in simulation, design, software development, testing, manufacturing engineering, and commissioning.\nParticipate in technical design reviews, HAZOP and FMEA activities, integration workshops, and customer discussions.\nPrepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and customer presentations.\nMaintain and update technical documentation in AVL systems, including Integrity, AVL Powertrain Database, and AVL CRUISE M.\nYOUR PROFILE:\nBachelor's degree or higher in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field.\nMinimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in systems engineering, process engineering, plant engineering, industrial energy systems, or related areas.\nExperience with industrial process plants, hydrogen technologies, fuel cells, electrolyzers, power generation systems, or similarly complex technical systems.\nKnowledge of requirements engineering, system architecture development, functional integration, and verification planning is considered an advantage.\nFamiliarity with PFDs, P&IDs, heat and mass balance calculations, and process design methodologies.\nExperience with engineering and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, AVL CRUISE M, or equivalent modelling software is advantageous.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and solution-oriented approach.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills in an international environment.\nProfessional proficiency in English; German language skills are a strong advantage.\nWillingness to travel internationally for project-related activities.\nWE OFFER:\nWork in a young group with supportive, friendly atmosphere with dedicated induction-training period, mentor program and further technical,\nHybrid working model (up to 60% home office),\nInternational working environment and experience, opportunity for business trips\nDevelop solutions for the largest car manufacturers and their suppliers\nPrivate healthcare, accident insurance;\nCommuting expenses reimbursement, Carpooling bonus;\nOpportunities for personal and professional development;\nDynamic team that values new ideas.\nABOUT AVL HUNGARY KFT.\nAVL Hungary Kft., founded in 2002, has become a leading research and development center in almost all areas of powertrain systems in recent years by combining the 100-year tradition of the Hungarian vehicle industry and the innovative activities of the global company.\nThe Hungarian company's team of more than 500 professionals works in a high-tech development environment not only in the headquarters in Érd, but in Budapest, Zalaegerszeg and Kecskemét.
