Experience what’s next at Avnet!\nJob Summary\nThe Industrial Engineer II is responsible for driving operational excellence across a low-volume, high-mix computer integration environment. In addition to traditional industrial engineering responsibilities such as capacity planning, process improvement, and facility layout design, this role will play a key role in maximizing warehouse space utilization, supporting infrastructure expansion projects, and enabling the successful onboarding of new customers and business opportunities by working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Program Management, Quality, Facilities, Finance, and Global Operations teams.\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who is comfortable analyzing data, multitasking, leading cross-functional projects, and influencing organizational change in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nPrincipal Responsibilities\nAnalyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements that increase productivity, reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.\nPerform time studies, process mapping, and workflow optimization activities.\nSupport new product introductions (NPI) and customer onboarding activities by developing scalable production processes and designing production cells.\nSupport cost reduction projects through process simplification, automation, and waste elimination.\nMonitor facility utilization and identify operational constraints that may impact customer commitments.\nSupport strategic decisions related to production expansion, insourcing, outsourcing, and capital investments.\nProvide recommendations on operational scalability for future business opportunities.\nEvaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and capacity utilization.\nDevelop facility layouts using CAD tools and industrial engineering methodologies.\nLead facility reconfigurations, infrastructure modifications, equipment relocations, and production area expansions.\nSupport building improvements required for new customer implementations and changing business requirements.\nParticipate in projects involving power distribution, network infrastructure, ESD requirements, automation, etc.\nCollaborate with engineering and operations teams at international integration and manufacturing centers.\nShare best practices and standardize engineering methodologies across multiple sites.\nSupport global capacity assessments and benchmarking activities.\nDevelop reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) including: Capacity utilization, Warehouse occupancy, space and power utilization.\nPresent recommendations and project updates to site and executive leadership teams.\nCoordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and implementation.\nSupport capital expenditure requests through technical analysis and business justification.\nPosition may require to travel.\nDistinguishing Characteristics & Skills:\nKnowledge of AutoCAD or similar layout design software.\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, and industrial engineering principles. \nAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. \nStrong communication and presentation skills. \nWork Experience:\n Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. \nEducation and Certification(s):\n Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.\nWhat We Offer:\nOur employees work hard to live our values and help us grow.
