We're looking for a hands-on technician in Austin to keep our fleet's electronics running and to help build the hardware we test next.\nWhat you'll do\nDiagnose and test electronic units on robotaxis and delivery robots, following written test procedures and using electrical test equipment\nDisassemble and reassemble electronic units\nRemove and install units on vehicles and robots\nRoute and install wiring on vehicles and robots\nRe-terminate and re-crimp cable assemblies and harnesses\nRepair PCB assemblies by reworking and replacing components, including fine-pitch work under a microscope, then run the follow-up tests in the procedure\nAssemble prototype hardware\nBuild and modify test benches and fixtures\nWork through assigned task lists and plans, and write clear reports on what you found, what you did and the test results\nKeep repair and inventory records up to date in our tracking systems\nWhat you'll need\nAbility to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams\nStrong soldering skills, including fine-pitch and microscope work (SMD components, rework of small packages)\nHands-on experience with electrical test equipment: multimeter, bench power supply, oscilloscope, and similar tools\nExperience with crimping, connector termination and cable assembly\nComfortable with everyday computer tools: Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), email, online schematic/PCB viewers, and databases or ticketing systems\nAbility to follow detailed written procedures exactly and to document your work\nVery precise, disciplined and detail-oriented: you take pride in work that is done right and recorded properly\nAble to work on your own and finish tasks on schedule\nNice to have\nIPC certification: J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721 (rework/repair) or IPC/WHMA-A-620 (cable and harness)\nExperience with automotive, robotics or other vehicle electronics\nFamiliarity with ESD-safe work practices\nEV / high-voltage safety awareness\nAssociate degree or technical certificate in electronics, or equivalent hands-on experience\nWork Environment\nOn-site in Austin, split between the electronics lab and the vehicle/robot fleet area\nFlexible full-time schedule, coordinated with the team\nCandidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation, sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.\nAvride is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants and employees with disabilities to ensure they have equal access to employment opportunities.
