Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for master's and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.\nAdvanced degree in engineering related field preferred. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.\nRequired Skills:\nExperience in stress analysis of aircraft systems, preferably supporting multiple aircraft programs.\nExperience with aircraft systems such as:Flight control systems,\nDoors and mechanisms,\nLanding gear systems,\nHydraulic and pneumatic systems,\n• Power plant systems and nacelles.\n\nExperience supporting system installations and supplier components.\nExperience in aircraft structural stress analysis, including primary and secondary structures.\nKnowledge of aircraft composite structures, including sandwich structures and solid laminates.\nExperience in static stress analysis and fatigue analysis.\nKnowledge of fatigue analysis methods, including constant-amplitude cyclic loading and fatigue spectrum development.\nFamiliarity with miner's rule for cumulative fatigue damage assessment.\nExperience reviewing engineering models using CATIA V5 and SmartTeam, or other 3D engineering modeling software.\nExperience in detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling.\nAbility to review, evaluate, and provide technical comments on supplier/vendor stress reports.\nExperience supporting supplier management activities, including participation in weekly Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings.\nExperience supporting component qualification activities and reviewing supplier technical documentation.\nFamiliarity with DO-160 environmental requirements for aircraft system components.\nStrong technical communication, engineering review, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nUnique Skills:\nValid driver's license may be required.\nParticipation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.\nPurpose:\nGuides successful completion of major engineering programs or conceives research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of company products and services.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities:\nSelects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.\nIs consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field.\nAnticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.\nApproach to problem solving balances technical product, cost and schedule.\nWorks without appreciable direction;
