Mix paints and primers.\nPerform leading edge sealant work in final detail.\nComply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Use personal protective equipment and ensure aircraft interior is protected (PTP).\nProperly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned.\nComply with Paint shop standard practices.\nLevel II Essential Functions and Responsibilities:\nRequires knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in painting trade and methods of mixing paint colors.\nSafely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision. Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications.\nFollow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms and paint sprayers. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.\nFollow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers and corrosion-preventive chemicals and use protective equipment as required.\nComply with safety rules and procedures and be alert for unsafe conditions. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.\nUse the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.\nAssist with aircraft movement in hangars.\nOffer continuous improvement ideas/participate in continuous improvement activities.\nLevel IV (i.e., Sr) Essential Functions and Responsibilities:\nAdvanced knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics) is necessary.\nSafely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision. Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications.\nAssist supervision with assignment and accomplishment of work for assigned team members. Promote high standards of quality through instruction and by setting a good example for other painters to follow. Act on behalf of supervision as required.\nFollow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms and paint sprayers. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.\nFollow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers and corrosion-preventive chemicals and use protective equipment as required.\nComply with safety rules and procedures and be alert for unsafe conditions. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.\nUse the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.\nAssist with aircraft movement in hangars.\nComply with Paint shop standard practices (SPT) process and WFR processes.\nMentor other members of Paint operations as required.\nOffer continuous improvement ideas/participate in continuous improvement activities.\nThorough and complete understanding of the GAMPS, paint operations SPT manual and paint WFR.\nOther Requirements:\nA working knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics).\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.\nAble to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification.\nAbility to use tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft painting process.
