Our team of specialist pathologists, scientists, technicians, phlebotomists, couriers, and shared services personnel deliver a world-class service that together collects, analyses, and reports over 7 million patient results annually.\nAbout the role | Mō te tūranga:\nWe are currently seeking a practical, reliable, and proactive Facilities Coordinator to join our Awanui Labs Auckland team, based in Mt Wellington.\nThis is a hands-on and varied role responsible for ensuring our laboratory facilities and community collection centres across Auckland are well-maintained, safe, and operating efficiently.\nWorking closely with the Laboratory Operations Manager and Work Health and Safety Coordinator, you will carry out general maintenance and minor repairs, coordinate external contractors and suppliers, and support the ongoing upkeep and compliance of our facilities.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced handyman or tradesperson who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is looking to contribute to an organisation that plays an important role in supporting healthcare services across Auckland.\nKey Responsibilities:\nUndertake general handyman duties, routine maintenance, and minor repairs across Awanui Labs Auckland facilities and community collection centres.\nConduct regular inspections of premises, identify maintenance issues, and arrange appropriate repairs or escalate major concerns.\nCoordinate and liaise with external contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance and repair work is completed efficiently.\nAssist in identifying and resolving facilities-related compliance issues, including building, fire safety, and workplace health and safety requirements.\nSupport the general upkeep, safety, and presentation of buildings and surrounding areas.\nBuild positive working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure facilities are maintained to a high standard.\nFollow health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for staff, patients, and visitors.\nAbout you | He kōrero mōu:\nTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:\nA minimum of 3 years' experience in handyman, general maintenance, or trade-related work.\nStrong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills, with the ability to undertake a variety of minor repairs.\nExperience coordinating and working with external contractors and service providers.\nA good understanding of workplace health and safety practices and the importance of maintaining safe, compliant facilities.\nExcellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirements.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and collaborative approach.\nThe ability to work independently, take initiative, and identify issues before they become larger problems.\nA practical, flexible, and reliable attitude, with strong attention to detail.\nA full driver's licence.\nWhat's in it for you | He aha mōu:\nAt Awanui Labs, you'll be part of a supportive and professional team that plays an important role in delivering quality healthcare services to communities across Auckland.\nOur three core values guide us in creating an inclusive and respected workplace where everyone can thrive and make a meaningful difference:\nManaakitanga -
