Our team consists of talented and skilled individuals, all of whom play an important rolein helping us to be New Zealand's leading provider of quality private healthcare services.\nAbout the role | Mō te tūranga:\nOur Haematology Department is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis (80 hours per fortnight).\nThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective and efficient performance of our department by working collaboratively with a supportive and professional team. You’llplay an important rolein delivering high-quality laboratory services that support exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPerform and interpret routine haematology, coagulationand morphology tests.\nEnsure accurateand timelyreporting of laboratory results in line with quality standards.\nContribute to workflow organisation and help prioritise tasks to meet service requirements.\nParticipate in internal and external quality control programmes.\nMaintain laboratory equipment and report any issues to ensure optimalperformance.\nFollow established laboratory processes and quality systems.\nEnsure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.\nKeep up to date with developments in haematology and maintainprofessional standards.\nAbout you | He kōrero mōu\nTo be successful in this role you need to have:\nA registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand as a Medical Laboratory Scientistwith an Annual Practising Certificate.\n\nAbility to work rostered shifts, including weekends.\nStrong commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality results.\nProven ability to interpret complex laboratory data and report findings confidently.\nSkilled in workflow prioritisation and working collaboratively in a team environment.\nExperience supporting or mentoring junior laboratory staff.\nFamiliarity with quality assurance systems and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.\nPreference for and experience in Flow Cytometry (FLOW) and Coagulation (Coag) testing.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to provide technical and scientific advice.\nThe ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.\nCommitted to health and safety compliance and maintaininga clean, safe work environment.\nEligibility to work in New Zealand.\nIf you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also
