Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.\n2. Role models appropriate communication skills with staff and other departments, especially in problem resolution\n3. Ensures that all products and supplies are handled in a manner consistent with the principles and\ninstitutional/departmental policies relating to infection control, sterilizer monitoring, packaging and processing\n4. Assists the Manager with quality/continuous improvement activities of the Sterile Processing department to meet\nregulatory standards of practice.\n5. Assists Manager with daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department and prepares work assignments for staff.\n6. Assists Manager with managing labor and supply components of the budget.\n7. Responsible for maintaining CSIQ Instrument Tracking System\n8. Assists Manager in organization functions of the department, conducting annual performance.\n9. Participates in the evaluation of staff.\n10. Recommends and implements process improvements.\n11. Responsible for all daily operations in the absence of the CSPD Manager.\n12. Develops educational calendars for all in-service training.\n13. Provides education and training to CSPD staff.\n14. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed\nto are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site\n(Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.\nMust be able to transport heavy objects and remain in a stationary position for at least 60 minutes in order to\nperform the outlined job duties properly and safely\nMust be able to constantly operate department machinery, equipment, devices, etc. 100% of the time.\nMust have the ability to concentrate for periods greater than 30 minutes frequently with distractions.\nMust have the ability to follow written and oral instructions\nMust be able to organize, prioritize and execute multiple tasks\nMust be flexible and able to adapt to changes in routine.\nWork requires attention to detail and requires mental/visual acuity.\nMust have normal sight and hearing.\nMust have the ability to distinguish between dull and sharpness.\nMust be able to identify malfunctioning equipment\nWhite Plains Hospital Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
