$124,880.9250Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesIncludes the Following:\nEnsure the delivery of high-quality department/clinical services in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.\n\nMaintain a safe environment for both employees and patients.\n\nMonitor compliance with accrediting agencies and ensure all documentation meets required standards.\n\nOverseestaffcompetency, orientation, training, and ongoing education.\n\nParticipate in committees, task forces, and special projects as needed.\n\nWork collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support hospital-wide initiatives.\n\nFoster positive employee relations and customer service while ensuring adherence to behavioral standards.\n\nServe as a change agent to support hospital initiatives and technological advancements.\n\nMaintain effective communication within and outside the department.\n\nAnalyze business and clinical workflows tooptimizesystem functionality.\n\nDesign database queries and generate reports usingappropriate tools.\n\nReview and ensure compliance with the laboratory’s Quality Management System (QMS).\n\nEnsure compliance with CLIA, CAP,NYSand other applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.\n\nReview and coordinate with supervisors to develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with best practices and regulatory guidelines.\n\nConduct internal audits andfacilitateexternal inspections, including CAP and state health department audits.\n\nInvestigate and resolve non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\n\nMonitor and evaluate quality control (QC) data,proficiencytesting (PT) performance, and laboratory indicators.\n\nConduct root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.\n\nReview and analyze incident reports, deviations, and complaints to drive quality improvements.\n\nEnsure documentation of quality assurance activities andmaintainquality records.\n\nProvide ongoing training to laboratory staff on quality policies, best practices, and regulatory updates.\n\nWork with department supervisors to organize competency assessments andcontinuingeducation tomaintainstaffproficiency.\n\nCollaboratewith department leads to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.\n\nIdentifyopportunities for process optimization and workflow improvements.\n\nLead quality improvement initiatives.\n\nPerform risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential errors in laboratory testing.\n\nServe as the primary liaison for quality-related communications between laboratory leadership, staff, and external regulators.\n\nPrepare and present quality performance reports to leadership.\n\nMaintain awareness of industry trends and regulatory changes that mayimpactlaboratory operations.\n\nCompile Monthly Quality Reports to present for Medical Director review.\n\nStrong understanding of laboratory regulatory and accreditation standards (CLIA, CAP, NYS).\n\nProficiencyin quality management principles, root cause analysis\n\nExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for policy writing, reporting, and training.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively across departments.\n\nExperience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and data analysis tools.\n\nFlexible Scheduling for Audits and Off shift reviews.\n\nPerformadditionalduties asassigned to support departmental and organizational goals.\n\nEducation& ExperienceRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, ora relatedfield (required).\n\nASCP, or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT), NYSDOH license(preferred).\n\nMinimum of 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience, with at least 1-2 years in a quality or compliance role.\n\nWhite Plains Hospital Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
