In this role you will work with a small team developing and optimizing computer vision and image processing algorithms to extract actionable insights from remote sensing imagery. You will apply expertise in computer vision, image processing, and GPU acceleration using Python, C++, and NVIDIA CUDA to develop high-performance R&D capabilities.\nActive Top Secret security clearance required. The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree or higher in engineering or related field with 3-7 years of experience. This position will largely be performed from WPAFB. We are currently considering candidates with an anticipated December start.\nCriteria for Success:\nCommunicate effectively in both written and verbal form with peers and decision makers\nDemonstrate initiative when faced with limited guidance or ambiguous requirements\nExpertise developing computer vision and image processing algorithms for remote sensing applications\nAbility to accelerate computationally intensive algorithms using NVIDIA CUDA and GPU computing\nExperience translating research algorithms into efficient, reliable, and maintainable software\nRequired Experience and Skills:\nBachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline\nThree (3) years of minimum experience developing computer vision or image processing algorithms\nExperience working with remote sensing imagery, including electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), or other satellite-based sensor data\nExperience implementing algorithms for object detection, segmentation, tracking, image registration, or feature extraction\nOne (1) year of minimum experience developing GPU-accelerated algorithms using NVIDIA CUDA, including implementation or optimization of GPU computations\nProficiency developing scientific and image processing software in Python using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, or OpenCV\nMastery of software configuration management using Git\nDesired Education and Experience:\nMaster of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline\nExperience developing and optimizing CUDA C/C++ kernels, including GPU memory management and performance profiling\nFamiliarity with GPU-accelerated computing libraries such as CuPy, Numba, or PyTorch\nExperience with OPIR imagery processing, exploitation, or analysis\nExpertise in classical computer vision, signal processing, or machine learning techniques applied to remote sensing\nExperience developing modular, reusable software using strong object-oriented software development practices\nExperience with container technologies (Docker / Podman / etc.) and GitFlow or GitOps workflows\nAbout Awetomaton\nWe build software that enables humans to make informed decisions from raw intel data, with a specialization in satellite collection.
