You will collaborate closely with other engineers, UX, and product managers to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and well-tested software for our award-winning marketing platform.\nYou are responsible for writing clean, secure and well-tested code, follow best-practice guidelines and help to improve those guidelines. Your code is open by default and easy for others to reuse. You are part of a team and with the team extend, maintain and operate assigned parts of our platform.\nAs one of the most senior members of the team, you coach and mentor more junior colleagues, participate in knowledge-sharing activities both within your team and the wider Engineering practice.\nYou have a good understanding of the user needs within your service and work with the product manager and other team members to translate these into technical solutions. You work through the entire lifecycle of a service or product, from understanding requirements, translating these into architectural diagrams, to development to deployment, then support and maintenance. We value everyoneʼs opinion and experience as much as we value delivering and team cohesion, and we consider a challenge and commit mindset to be crucial to balance these.\nHard Skills\nRequired\nAt least 6 years of hands-on experience in commercial Software Engineering roles.\nGood experience working with front-end code, ideally using Angular.\nExtensive experience in developing cloud software using:AWS services - Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, Opensearch\nTerraform for writing Infrastructure as Code scripts\nTypescript\nJava v21 with Maven, and Spring Boot v3 Docker\nDocker\n\nUnderstanding of relational database design principles, SQL query optimisation, and proficiency in SQL and non-relational databases like DynamoDB.\nExperience and an enthusiasm for using and finding new ways to use AI tools to augment software development practices.\nExperience using Git for source control.\nPassion for writing elegant code and a desire to constantly refactor and improve, with a good understanding of the SOLID principles.\nExpertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.\nAbility to conduct a thorough code review process, write unit tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines.\nA keen interest in agile processes eg.
