This position will be responsible for the safety, management, and ongoing growth of the company, by leading safety initiatives to protect employees, customers, and assets. Managing, supervising, and supporting the growth and development of the team is a key component of this role. The management team at AWP is instrumental in achieving success and verifying customer needs are being met at the highest level of satisfaction through safety, P&L management, team building, recruitment strategies, and promoting ongoing relationships with both internal and external clients.\nStrategic planning and implementation of strategies to create and maintain safe work practices\nProtect the company’s employees, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through the enforcement of safe work practices\nEnsure safety compliance by Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations as it relates to the Site\nPrevent accidents and other safety exposures by investigating, identifying causes, and developing preventative measures and practices\nMaintain traffic control, safety, and supervisor credentials\nFacilitate safety and committee meetings\nResponsible for overseeing P&L, Fleet, Safety, Equipment Inventory, and Customer Interactions\nAbility to understand and adhere to a collective bargaining agreement (if applicable)\nSolidify AWP’s presence in the service area and identify potential opportunities for growth\nEnsure customer service issues are addressed promptly and efficiently while providing the highest level of customer service.\nResponsible for tracking and auditing the usage of assets, employees, and time for projects\nUtilize Site and organization data for workforce forecasting to predict staffing needs\nParticipate in the recruiting and hiring strategies in conjunction with Human Resources\nDevelop and support the growth of 3-5 direct supervisors\n Manage a staff of 75-150 field employees - territories could cover several hundred square miles, often a large portion of the whole state (some overnight travel likely)\nEngage and invest in the training of new and current employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and reduce labor costs\nFoster team building through leadership practices and regular communication strategies\nBecome a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging\nConduct Site new hire orientation and ongoing training\nManage daily employee issues including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, scheduling, and customer issues\n Associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred\n5-10 years of management experience required\nStrong leadership with excellent communication and coaching skills\nExcellent motivation and organizational skills\nIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems\nExperience managing P&L\nProcess Improvement - Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma preferred\nExperience in Business Development - top & bottom line\nSignificant experience developing high-performing teams\nThe proactive approach to brand development\nBuilding strong customer relationships\nAbility to develop and execute business plans\nMust adhere to and promote safe workplace practices\nMust maintain a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record void of suspension or revocation\nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS -\nEmployees must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:\nExpect a 40+ hour work week, occasional weekends, and holidays\nHours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workload\nTime will be split between field and office environments\nThe position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt\nOccasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles, and occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites\nThe noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud\nPosition may lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds\nIf necessary, in the field, stand for long periods and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts pushes, pulls, or carries objects\n Benefits-eligible 1st of the month following hire\nAll traditional benefits are offered, including 3 medical plan options and 2 dental plan options, as well as additional benefits such as Legal and Identity Shield, Accident, and Critical Illness\nCompany paid 50k in basic life insurance\nCompany paid LTD\nHealth Savings and Flex Spending Accounts Available\n401(k)\nPaid Time Off & Paid Holidays\nAWP named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces 2023 for Diversity\nAWP Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
