Teamwork, then this career opportunity is for you!!\n RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAs a Senior Protector, this role will support and uphold AWP’s core values and mission to protect our customers’ people, businesses, and time. Controls movement of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic through work zones using hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle. Reviews, comprehends, and executes temporary traffic control plans and/or standards to ensure work zones are properly installed and maintained.\nCoordinates and communicates with customers to ensure the safety of all workers.\nSet up, maintain, and remove Advance Warning Signs, Channelizing Devices, and other traffic control devices according to Federal, State, and/or Local Temporary Traffic Control Guidelines and Temporary Traffic Control Plans for simple and intermediate complexity work zones.\nMaintain a Flagger Station by standing and controlling road users through the use of hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle.\nDrive a company vehicle to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites safely and in a timely manner. May also pull lightweight trailered equipment.\nEffective radio communication with team members on work site.\nFollow all company safety procedures and practices.\nNotify Supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents.\nAchieve organizational required training within timeframe established by Project Manager or Facility Manager.\nProvide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to Protector\nOther duties as assigned.\nSafety Sensitive Position\n QUALIFICATIONS:\nTraffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2000+ verifiable hours required\nHigh School Diploma or GED completion required\nPrior experience preferred in temporary traffic control services, utility industry, or construction industry preferred\nExcellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills\nIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems\nMust be able to follow safe workplace practices\nValid Driver’s License void of suspension or revocation\nAt least 18 years old.\nMandatory out of town work averaging 2 weeks- 2 months \nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nEmployee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the\nfollowing:\nHours of operation may vary due to staffing needs.\nFrequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.\nFrequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the work environment.\nThe position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.\nPosition lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds.\nStands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects.\nPosition requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.\n MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive Pay: Hourly pay based on experience, guaranteed pay increase within the first year.
