If you want a career where your work truly matters-and where safety, teamwork, and development are top priorities-you belong at AWP Safety.\n The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for supporting the procurement process by ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of inventory, materials, and supplies. This role maintains accurate product and vendor information, prepares and reviews purchase orders, monitors inventory levels and vendor performance, and collaborates closely with sales, operations, receiving, and suppliers to ensure product availability and uninterrupted business operations. The Purchasing Clerk analyzes demand forecasts, manages backorders and lead times, resolves purchasing discrepancies, processes vendor claims and returns, and maintains accurate purchasing records. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and the capability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.\nPreferred schedule is Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:00PM; fleixbilty may be considered based on candidate expereince and business needs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMaintain accurate & timely communication with all departments and vendors\nFacilitate smooth and effective workflow between departments\nClosely monitor and manage ETAs\nMaintain accuracy of information for all SKU’s including retails, costs, part numbers & product notes\nPartner with outside sales and operations to forecast demand for more accurate ordering\nApprove or challenge vendor invoices to verify costs\nEvaluate each vendor order report, determining the current stock to upcoming order quantities\nMonitor backorder & quote requests for future order reports\nPrepare purchase orders and review for accuracy\nDetect, research, and resolve purchasing issues and problems with purchase orders, invoices and shipments\nApprove purchase orders / requisitions (Check for corrections, freight terms, pricing discrepancies, etc.)\n Prepare & maintain vendor files (Contacts, freight terms, emails, etc.)\nUpdate discontinued items and find alternatives\nEvaluate receiving discrepancies and/or damages, request replacement or credits\nMaintain accurate files of approves purchases orders & requisitions\nRetrieve order confirmations to verify against purchase orders\nComplete RFQ’s (Request for Quotes) from Counter Sales Department and assist Outside Sales with any freight quotes / requests\nReference backorder items to the current open purchase orders, determine if more will need to be ordered for stock\nProcess vendor claims and returns in a timely manner\nInform management & sales team of upcoming price increases\nUpdate purchase order notes (Price increases, extended lead times and any discontinued items)\nAll other duties as assigned \nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\n2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, supply chain, or related administrative experience preferred.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.\nExperience working with ERP, inventory management, or purchasing systems.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, pricing, and order processing.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.\nComprehensive benefits package including three medical plan options and two dental plan options, along with additional benefits such as Legal and Identity Shield, Accident, and Critical Illness coverage.\nEligibility for benefits starts on the 1st of the month following your hire date.\nCompany-paid life insurance coverage.\nCompany-paid long-term disability (LTD) insurance.\nAvailability of Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).\nParticipation in the 401(k) retirement plan.\nPaid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.\n$26.00-$29.00 per hour \nAWP Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
