As the primary liaison between Axalta construction teams, project leaders, and third-party contractors, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position is ideal for a construction leader with extensive industrial construction or plant maintenance experience and a passion for driving safety, operational excellence, and team development.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead and manage the on-site Axalta Construction Team, including mechanical and electrical construction crews.\nCoordinate construction activities with Project Team Leads (PTLs) to support project timelines and business objectives.\nOversee capital project construction and major maintenance projects involving new equipment installations and system upgrades.\nServe as the primary site contact and field administrator for third-party construction contractors.\nPromote and maintain a Goal Zero safety culture while ensuring compliance with all company safety standards and permitting requirements.\nMonitor project execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.\nReview contractor change orders and support cost management initiatives.\nEnsure proper labor charging and resource allocation for construction activities.\nEstablish performance expectations, provide coaching, and support employee development.\nMonitor team performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.\nCoordinate construction activities to minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations.\nParticipate in constructability reviews and provide input during FEL and detailed design phases.\nSupport continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.\nReview drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure successful project execution.\nCoordinate with engineers, contractors, and site stakeholders to ensure equipment and systems are installed correctly and integrated effectively.\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.\n10 plus years of industrial construction experience.\n5 plus years of people management and leadership experience required.\nStrong knowledge of industrial construction safety programs and permitting systems.\nExperience with General Work, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Crane Lift permitting.\nStrong project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, safety procedures, and project documentation.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.\nPreferred Skills:\nOSHA 30 Certification.\nExperience managing construction activities within a chemical, coatings, manufacturing, or industrial facility.\nProficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling software.\nExperience working within SAP, including maintenance and project-related transactions.\nKnowledge of continuous improvement and Lean/Kaizen methodologies.\nStrong contractor management and stakeholder relationship skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\nExperience with SAP.\nMicrosoft Project or related scheduling software preferred.\nAbility to analyze project costs, schedules, and resource utilization.\nAxalta operates its business in two segments: Performance Coatings and Mobility Coatings, which serve four end markets, including Refinish, Industrial, Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle, across North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
