This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing test systems to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The supervisor partners closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to drive productivity, resolve technical issues, and support business objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise and develop a team of test engineers and technicians supporting manufacturing operations.\nLead daily test engineering activities to ensure production goals, quality targets, and delivery commitments are achieved.\nDrive troubleshooting and root cause analysis of product, process, and test equipment failures.\nDevelop, maintain, and optimize manufacturing test processes, procedures, and documentation.\nOversee installation, qualification, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production test equipment and automated test systems.\nEnsure robust test coverage and process controls are implemented to maintain product quality and reliability.\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including yield, test cycle time, equipment uptime, and first-pass success rates.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering teams to improve manufacturability, testability, and product performance.\nLead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and support customer and internal audits as required.\nIdentify opportunities for automation and process improvements to reduce cost and increase operational efficiency.\nManage project priorities, resource allocation, and staffing plans to support changing business needs.\nSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring successful transition from development to production.\nProvide technical leadership, coaching, and performance management for direct reports.\nPromote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.\n5+ years of manufacturing test engineering experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.\nExperience with automated test equipment, production troubleshooting, and manufacturing process control.\nStrong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and continuous improvement principles.\nProficient reading complex schematics and drawings.\nExperience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.\nDemonstrated leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in semiconductor equipment, electronics manufacturing, or complex electromechanical systems.\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Design for Testability (DFT) principles.\nExperience with data analysis tools, test software development, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).\nExperience with Minitab, Creo, AutoCAD, LabView, and TestStand\nLeadership Competencies\nStrategic problem solving\nTeam development and coaching\nOperational excellence\nData-driven decision making\nChange management\nCross-functional leadership\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT\nIt is the policy of Axcelis to provide equal opportunity in all areas of employment for all persons free from discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin, disability status, medical condition (including pregnancy), veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
