As a Buyer, you will support procurement and commodity management activities by working closely with manufacturing, planning, engineering, quality, and suppliers to ensure the timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services.\nWhat You'll Do\nReview and analyze purchase requisitions and coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams.\nProcess purchase requisitions, purchase orders, purchase order changes, and requests for quotations (RFQs) with suppliers.\nMaintain procurement business system data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of supply chain information.\nCreate and maintain bills of material (BOMs), part numbers, commodity information, supplier records, and other enterprise system data.\nSupport procurement team initiatives including part parameter maintenance, quote table maintenance, supplier database updates, and error-report analysis.\nPerform cost analysis and volume planning for assigned commodities, materials, components, equipment, and services.\nMonitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned supplier agreements and procurements to achieve the highest quality at the best value.\nDevelop new supply sources and evaluate alternative suppliers when existing vendors are no longer competitive.\nRecommend cost-saving opportunities, including make-versus-buy analyses and alternative sourcing strategies.\nWork closely with suppliers and Quality Assurance to resolve quality, delivery, and performance issues.\nSupport commodity management activities including commodity business plans, market trend assessments, pricing analysis, and product availability reviews.\nBuild and maintain expertise in assigned domestic and/or global commodity categories.\nWhat You Need\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n1-2 years of professional experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or a related business function preferred.\n Experience working with ERP, MRP, or supply chain management systems preferred.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience working with suppliers and supporting manufacturing operations preferred.\nWhy Axcelis?\nAt Axcelis, you will work alongside talented professionals in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.
