Our team is expanding, and we are currently hiring an Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer. This role will contribute to the effective management of the environmental, health and safety program at Axcelis’ semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility in Beverly. This individual will work closely with the site EHS team to collaboratively implement and support the EHS program through completion of assigned projects and management of assigned focus areas.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 EHS Management System through management of selected program elements, documentation, auditing and corrective actions.\nReview and revise EHS policies and procedures.\nReview new activities, process changes, and experiments to determine potential for any EHS related issues and eliminate or reduce the chance of injury, illness and adverse environmental impacts.\nConduct/monitors daily, weekly, and monthly EHS inspections and recommend improvements to the EHS committee\nDevelop site specific training and assist with the management of on-line training curriculum via LMS, maintain training records\nManage Axcelis’ Hazard Communication Program, including maintenance of written program, SDS management, chemical and facilities labeling, and new chemical review and approval.\nConduct comprehensive EHS incident/near miss investigations, determine root cause and make recommendations for corrective and preventative actions\nConduct and document Risk Assessments for plant operations\nQualify newly installed tools for use of Toxic Gas through hookup and testing of Toxic Gas Management systems\nQualifications:\nBachelors degree or a minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required (this may include internships).\nA Bachelors degree in an Environmental Health and Safety related discipline is preferred.\nCandidate must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy in the course of communications.\nMust have excellent computer skills in applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.\nCandidate must have the ability to use document control, and case management software systems.\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT\nIt is the policy of Axcelis to provide equal opportunity in all areas of employment for all persons free from discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin, disability status, medical condition (including pregnancy), veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
