Our team is expanding, and we are currently hiring Senior SW Engineers for our Beverly MA location.\nIn this role the SW engineer will develop software specifically for Ion Beam generation, including the monitoring and control of beam uniformity and beam angles, to produce high quality beams that meet customers process constraints in minimum amount of time.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop production quality real-time machine control SW applications primarily in C/C++\nDevelop major and minor enhancements as well as bug fixes\nWork closely with Product Team including software & hardware engineers, process engineers, scientists and marketing to develop requirements and design definition for software features\nWork with Product Support to investigate and resolve field reported issues on released products\nWork with Software Quality Group to test on both Implanter Hardware and on Product simulator \nThis role could include travel to customer sites both foreign and domestic locations,\nBasic Qualifications:\nExperience developing controls for complex electro-mechanical hardware components with distributed IO systems, multi-tiered /multi-platform control architecture required and the ability understand the hardware and physical system being controlled\nStrong C/C++ programming skills\nExperience developing real-time multi-tasked control using a Real Time Operating System (RTOS) such as Windriver VxWorks OS\nExperience in area of real-time machine control and instrumentation device interfaces (sensors, actuators, motors, encoders, IO systems) required\nSolid experience with high speed real-time data acquisition, manipulation and transfer\nSolid mathematical skills and basic understanding of control theory as applied to motion and other physical systems\nPractical experience implementing single and multivariate closed loop control for various types of physical systems\nExperience with implementation and application of signal processing methods such as peak detection, noise filtering, and linear/non-linear control loop compensation for response optimization\nExperience with embedded systems development required\nUnderstanding of implications of HW/SW partitioning as related to system performance and reliability required\nA team-player attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills are a must\nAbility to work in Clean Room environment.\nExperience with the following, a plus:\nSystems experience in Ion beam generation and control\nSystems experience in Plasma physics\nRF and microwave generators\nMKS Macro node (or other) Modbus controllers\nEthernet TCP/IP and RS-232 communication interfaces\nEducation\nMinimum BS in a related Engineering or physics degree with experience in software development for electro-mechanical systems.
